Affordable Carpets

Business owner extremely helpful,  called us right back to set up a time to meet  to discuss the work we wanted done.  Installer was on time, neat and did a great job,  and answered all of our questions.  Will definitely use Affordable Carpets again to do living room and hallway re-carpet

The kitchen vinyl flooring installation was amazing - only one small seam in the floor where there is foot traffic.  Very well done. Large kitchen with a number of quirky areas.
The TV room carpet came in after they had loaded the truck with our kitchen flooring and headed to the house for the installation.  They came back the next day to get the carpeting installed while our furniture was all out of the way.  The room gets a lot of traffic.  Mike had suggested a particular carpet due to its softness and durability.  We love it!  It is very soft, comfy and while it's a large room, you can't find any of the seams.  The installation team is courteous, professional, and called ahead when they were going to be about an hour late. 
The results are great! I plan to use them next year when we replace our carpet going up the stairs and get new flooring in the second floor rooms.

We used Affordable Carpets for installing a runner on our stairwell, but we already had the carpet and padding. John did an excellent job on the installation, and was very professional and courteous. Their price for the work was excellent, and the only issue was that they were supposed to call me for my address which didn't come. I had to call and leave a message after it was later than my appointment time, but I got a call right back and he did the work about 45 minutes. A small issue, particularly given the quality of the work and the price...would highly recommend.

The service went very well. They were very prompt, and we are very happy with the carpet.

First of all, the shopping experience with Mike at Affordable Carpets was one of the more pleasant we have ever had.   Mike is a no pressure guy who tries very hard to work with what we wanted both for style as well as pricing.   He didn't overwhelm us with dozens of choices or throw some unwanted remnant on the table.   His price includes the thickest pad and he is very flexible about installation dates.   While the "showroom" is very small, we actually liked that aspect - less distractions - less confusion.   Compared to the "warehouse" experience we had had on Erie Blvd the week before it was a breath of fresh air.   Best of all, Mike's price for a comparable carpet was less than half what the "big" store wanted!!!
Mike mentioned that he usually did a couple of the Parade of Homes installations and that, coupled with the glowing reviews here on Angie's List sealed the deal.  
The installer arrived on time and had the proper materials and he went right to work.  We had a pretty simple job for him and we had previously taken up all of the old carpet, padding, tack strips, staples, etc and the room was completely empty.   He made quick work of the installation and even worked with me to build a small ramp up to the transition piece into our newly remodeled kitchen.  All went very well and we are completely thrilled with the way the carpet looks and feels underfoot.  
We would not hesitate to visit Mike at Affordable Carpets again.

Good work for a fair price.

The installers were on-time and they worked quickly. Overall, I think I got a fair price. They did everything that they promised to do. A carpet is a long term investment, so we'll have to wait to see how it holds up over time.

The installers arrived on time. It took them almost 7 hours to carpet the areas listed. They did a good job and kept working till the job was done. They were very efficient, quiet, quick and thorough. Mike (owner) was also nice and easy to work with.

I thought of going with one of the BIG retailers but wanted to go with someone locally owned. I don't regret the decision.

From start to finish, this company was amazing. The owner is incredibly helpful and down to earth. Just seems like an all around nice guy. We told him our budget and we only paid $25 over because we decided on a better quality carpet. He didn't try to up sell us or make us feel uncomfortable in any way money wise. And the quality carpet/pad we got is great. Very soft and comfortable. The installer arrived at our house at 9 am on the dot just as promised and was done with an 1 hour. I am hoping to use this company again in the near future and would recommend them to anybody!!

We started by measuring the rooms and then went to pick the carpets. We had 2 large living areas, a hallway and 5 steps to do which is the first of 3 levels in our home. Mike (owner) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Gave him our measurements and he gave us an approximate price which included everything. No hidden fees here. We planned on a time he could come and double check our measurements and also gave us a couple possible install dates. He came to the house at exactly the time he indicated and we picked our date. The day of the install the guys were here promptly at the designated time. They introduced themselves and we chatted a few minutes about what they were going to do. To make sure they were correct as to the things we wanted done. We had the rooms fairly empty with the exception of a very heavy queen size sofa bed. No extra fee for working around the sofa. We arranged to have the old carpet removed by them and hauled away. We were charged $90 for this service and it was worth every penny. By the time we would have rented a truck and the dump fee, it would have cost at least $90. As the carpet was being installed the guys would give us some info on what they were doing. The install went very smoothly. The total time was a little less than 2!/2 hours. All the old carpet was taken and there was no old residual carpet anywhere. Very tidy. The carpet looks awesome and the steps are perfect. The one installer that did the steps was meticulous. Each step is perfectly tucked and set. We are very pleased and will be having Affordable carpets back to do the second and third floor.

Other than being a few hours later than scheduled they still finished on time and really had a great price. The quality of the work was as good as I've ever seen.

i hope our carpet holds up like it was described to be able to.

This is the second time I've had Affordable Carpets install carpet in my home. For comparison purposes, I first went to Home Depot and was given an estimate that was very similar in price to Affordable Carpets, HOWEVER, Home Depot advertises and will quote you on a low cost carpet installation, but they actually have a whole binder of upcharges they will add on during the in-home estimation such as: walking the roll of carpet around a corner, bringing it up or down more than a few stairs, a house built before the 1970's with the potential of lead paint (even if it's been totally remodeled - do they lick the windows??), $1.50 a foot carpet tacking, floors that aren't perfectly level)... I could go on and on about the ridiculous ways they will add on fees to the advertised price of $39 whole house carpet install.
SO, the point is that I went to Affordable Carpets. I spent 10 minutes picking out my carpet, gave the owner the measurements, left a small deposit, and scheduled the installation date. The carpet installers arrived a few minutes early, were very friendly and courteous, and seriously busted their butts for about 3 hours installing the tack strips, pad and carpet throughout my whole upstairs. They did a wonderful, professional job. They finished it beautifully around the top of the stairs where it met the hardwood. They also cleaned up nicely after themselves. I could not be happier with Affordable Carpets and I will certainly look to them in the future for any carpet needs.

I had a great experience with affordable carpet. The owner, Mike, was great. The price was good. They were able to do the job within a week or so. The installer arrived on time. The work was done well and I'm very pleased. I will definitely be using this company again in the future.

This company is wonderful!!! From the store owner to the technicians installing the flooring- they were all friendly, helpful, and did a great job both on the removal of the old flooring and installation of the new. They cleaned up after themselves, and explained proper care of the new flooring. I was so impressed with their work they are coming next week to install new carpeting in 3 rooms in my house. I would highly recommend them!!
