ECO HEATING AND COOLING

Initially, we thought that all went well. Then when we needed to contact the company for the second phase of the work, it took multiple calls to reach them and get an appointment set up. Then multiple calls were required to get an appointment set up for an annual inspection of the furnaces in our home. By the time the third phase of the work was to be done, installation of a whole house AC unit, our frustration level was high with the previous lack of response, so we called in another contractor to get a new quote. At that time, we were told that the evaporator coil was not installed correctly and to fix the issue there would be an additional $1,500 in labor costs. I then spoke to another HVAC engineer and after talking he agreed the coil would not work as installed. To follow up with that, the local representative of the furnace manufacturer and AC unit came and looked at the installation, and agreed that the system would not work as initially installed, and if it did work at the start there could be problems down the road because the condensation from the coil would not be able to drain as required. When I was finally able to contact Eco and communicate with the owner, which he would only do via email, he stated that he disagreed with the information provided by the other people I spoke with, and he felt he had solution to the problem (but that wasn't part of the original quote for the overall project.) In the end, his final words were "If your other contractor can't figure that out, I suggest you keep shopping. We thank you for your patronage, and wish you the best of luck." Not much help, in our opinion. When all was said and done, we had to have most of the work that Eco did redone. Although the previous reviews on this company were good, that was not our experience.

They where on time, friendly, knowledgable about the equipment and products that where need to make things work smoothly.

It was a high efficiency water heater.  They took out the old one, installed the new one and vented it correctly.  They were very nice, professional and did a good job when they said they would do it at the cost the estimated.

Our house was one of the first houses they worked with for the energy star program and the final result was outstanding. Our energy bill for December was almost exactly 50 % of the previous years bill ( RG&E said that the average monthly temp was the same for both years). We did have a few issues with inspections but ECO Heating was always polite, timely and considerate--Cleaning messes, working around my schedule, etc. They even sent me a Christmas present when everything was finalized!! We had several bids for the work so I also know that their price was fair.

Very well. It was a big job, but Mike and his subs did a great job. Our house is 4200 square feet and was built in 1870. Our heating bills were ridiculous and the house was always cold. Now we're comfortable and our bills are unbelievably low. Mike also did all the paperwork to get us the NY energy rebate and he supplied us with all the info we needed for the federal tax credit.

This was a hugh job that required us to have wells dug up our driveway since we live in the city. Our formerly drafty house (over 4200 square feet, built in 1870) is now warm and cosy in the winter and cool in the summer, and our energy bills have dropped significantly. Mike also helped us get a NY rebate and provided all the paperwork we needed to apply for the federal energy tax credit.
