We hired Zach and Maple Ridge Landscaping for a few years in a row for both mowing and snow removal. They were young businessmen and graduates of our local school district, and we wanted to support them. The first few years were okay. They had growing pains as a new business, but we were willing to overlook them as they were responsive. That all changed in 2017, and then became unbearable in 2018. In 2017 there were many days that our driveway wasn't plowed. The school bus stop for our street is in front of our home, and many days the kids had to stand in the road. I would call Zach, and he would answer the phone and apologize, but every time it was a different excuse. Either the truck broke down, or he had a new driver, or both. Ultimate though, they would get there by dinner time and clear the driveway. In 2018 though, they stopped plowing completely. There were many days in a row we just never saw them. We would call, but they no longer pick up the phone, we would leave a voicemail message, but they would never return them. They didn't return e-mails either. At the end of the plowing season, Zach was very apologetic, and said that he wanted to make it up to us and for us to give them one more chance. Like an idiot, I agreed to hire them for mowing again. Our daughter was graduating high school and we were having her party in our back yard in June. The grass kept getting higher and higher, and we kept calling Zach, and initially he kept promising to be there within a day. Ultimately the promises stopped, because he stopped answering his phone, and he eventually shut off his voicemail, so you could call their office, but all you would get is a message telling callers that he was unavailable, with no way to leave a message. Finally, the day before the party, we had to rent some large mowers and do it ourselves. We never heard back from Zach again. Neighbors or ours have had the same issues. It's sad, because we wanted to see a new local business succeed, but I would suggest looking elsewhere.

There mowing was erratic, sometimes waiting two weeks before coming back to mow. Trimwork was not great. Maybe they're new and don't know the business yet but I can't recommend

We have a steep drive and the garage is at the top.  We've had trouble over the years with plowers pushing snow into the garage doors, piling it up against the house, tearing up the yard, or just not getting it right, despite requests and suggestions.  Maple Ridge has been careful and responsive with their work for us, and we can trust them to always get it done well!

We were not happy with their service. Their snow plowing skills were not good.

Service was great in November and December 2013 when snowfall was light.  Then on January 2, 2014, when Syracuse received a foot of snow in 24 hours, the service started to decline.  I saw them plow my driveway at 7 AM  on January 2nd and didn't see them again until 7 AM on January 3rd. 
Phone calls and emails to the company asking about this lack of plowing were never returned.  Same with follow-up calls. Their lack of customer service is horrible.
Now it's snowing again today.  I measure over 6 inches in my driveway over the last 8 hours and they haven't plowed once. Two phone calls and a text message inquiring about the service have gone unanswered.
I'll be hiring someone else this week. 
The entire reason we hired a service was to prevent me having to do it.  I have health issues and small children.  I consider the money my husband paid to them as complete waste.
UPDATE: Despite continual snowfall over the three day weekend (Jan 18-20), my  wasn't plowed until 4 PM on Monday, Jan 20th.  Again, my phone calls and emails were not returned.
