CHESTNUT RIDGE LAWN & LANDSCAPING

While Ron obviously cares about what he does, and his team is fine, I found his personal customer service deplorable. Last year. it took time and effort to get him to understand how I wanted my property to look; he doesn't slow down and listen. I thought I had gotten through to him, but found he designed the landscaping how HE wanted it. I also spent hundreds on new plantings that were gone in a week, eaten down to the nub by deer. Deer of course are not his fault, but his foresight in recommending plants that are deer food, and his absence of responsibility afterwards was stressful and expensive. (When he saw the plants were eaten, he told me what other clients are doing against deer--as if its a new topic. What he should have done is ask beforehand how prevalent deer are in my neighborhood, and recommended other kinds of plantings, or none at all. He didn't ask, he just did, and then let me live with it..
Today he told me I'm "wrong" in feeling frustrated with the state of my grounds compared with others around me that are flourishing. And while he's not listening, he's talking explanations. I as a customer who's paying somewhat premium prices, want a few things: my needs to be heard and taken seriously, and when mistakes are made, to be worked with to make things right--rather than plow through defensiveness and justifications. He tells me I'm his only unhappy customer, so maybe I'm crazy, but I don't like being railroaded, then given below par results, then piled on with excuses.
I fired him today.

The owner of the company, Ron Miller is terrific at what he does - and he has a great crew.  They have been taking care of our lawn since this past spring and it always looks beautiful as a result of their care.  Ron and his crew are very hard working and thorough.  They go above and beyond to make sure your lawn looks great.  Ron is very knowledgeable and offers you solutions to your lawn care that are sensible and do not break the bank.  Best of all, Ron is an outstanding human being who worked with us to reduce the costs of our lawn maintenance since this is our first year in a new home and we are decidedly "house poor."  I would recommend Ron's company to anyone lucky enough to live in his service area.

I AM NOT VERY HAPPY WITH THEM. I AM PRETTY SURE I AM GOING TO CHANGE COMPANIES. THEY CAME, AND THEY DID THE WORK WHEN I SPECIFICALLY ASKED THEM NOT TO CUT THE LAWN. IT WAS WAY TOO DRY. THEIR CLEAN UP WAS A LAUGH. THEY JUST MOWED OVER THE LEAVES. THEY DID NOT PICK THEM UP. HE IS ALWAYS PUSHING FOR MORE AND MORE MONEY. WE DON'T NEED LAWN SERVICE 12 MONTHS A YEAR, ESPECIALLY IF I DON'T EVEN SEE THEM YET GET CHARGED FOR IT.
