He performed the work, and the day that he applied the polyurethane topcoat, our home burned to the ground, taking along all of our belongings. He took us to court for damages, as we were not going to pay him for the work he did or supplies used, as we suspected him to be at fault for the blaze. Unfortunately, the fire was so bad that there was insufficient evidence to assert blame on any specific thing. However, he did two small rooms in the home, and didn't open any windows. The product packaging for the polyurethane coating clearly states that proper ventilation is necessary to prevent buildup of explosive vapors. He also failed to dispose of his rags and contaminated materials, also according to manufacturer instructions on product packaging.
