EDWARD L KNIGHT WOOD FLOORING

It was, in a word, awful. I purchased a house and needed a new floor. I wanted hardwood so, based on two strong recommendations, I hired Ed Knight of Cavalier Flooring. I met with him a couple of times and he seemed knowledgeable, responsive and punctual. However when it came time to doing the work, he clearly sent his C team. There is too much to share - the process went on for over a year - but the punchline is that the floor has had to be refinished 3 times, at my cost (with different providers) which has significantly shortened the life of the floor. The floor, meanwhile, because of how it was installed, is not and probably won't ever be, right. There are big gaps between the boards, poly balls (yes, what they sounds like, sticky hard balls of polyurethane) that appear periodically between the boards that are pressed together (and these balls are very hard to remove and there are tons of them) and the wood doesn't seem particularly hard or of a good quality. I cannot suggest firmly enough not to use Ed Knight of Cavalier Flooring. Or Ed Knight Flooring or whatever he is going by these days. He apparently finishes a lot of school gymnasium floors and that makes me question how our tax dollars are being spent. It was a floor disaster. I ended up taking him to small claims court to recoup some of the money I had to pay other providers to fix his mess when Ed's early attempts were unsuccessful (and he started losing interest in making things right.)
