I?m extremely disappointed and feel compelled to share my experience. I trusted this individual, and unfortunately, that trust was seriously violated when they took money without permission. This wasn?t a misunderstanding?it was theft, plain and simple. I attempted to resolve the matter privately, but there was no accountability or effort to make things right. I strongly advise others to be cautious in any dealings with this person. Integrity and honesty matter, and sadly, both were missing in this situation.

I contacted Angi for a basement renewal and was contacted by Arc Handyman and painting shortly after. I showed him the basement and told him what we needed and he gave us a quote of $49000 and said he has his people that he's been working with for years that will help us with financing and it would be guaranteed due to our good credit scores and income but we would need to give him a deposit of $8000 to buy materials and get started. We gave him the money and asked for a receipt and his reply was he didn't have his receipt book so I gave him a piece of paper and he wrote down date and time and the amount and signed it. He contacted us the following day and said he contacted his people and everything should go through but then he told us that we were denied and he had to deposit the $8000 to secure the loan. I told him I've never heard of that before and he assured me that he's been doing this for years and since he was recommended by Angi I didn't question it. After several days of trying I became concerned and asked what was going on, he said he contacted several other lenders and I said how could you be contacting other lenders when you said you deposited the cash with a particular lender to secure the loan? And then he went blank, then he said he requested back the money he deposited and they told him the person that he delt with was away...so I told him to forget about it and just give us back the deposit. At first he agreed then he wanted to come do some work amounting to the $8000 and I told him no thank you, I just wanted my money back. Then all of sudden I couldn't get in touch with him via text or call. When I texted him that I was going to report him then he answered saying he was sick and couldn't get to the phone. I asked him when I was going to get my money he said within the the next 24 to 48 hours and it's almost 3 months and he's still not taking our calls.

I had to give him one star because this page wouldn't let me continue without doing so. If was up to me he would have gotten a negative 10 stars.everything seemed ok, he gave us a quote for the job and asked for a $8000 down-payment before he started. I thought it was strange but against my better judgment I gave it to him and that's when all the lies and excuses started. All of a sudden I could no longer get a hold of him via text or call and when he did reply it was one contradicting story after the next. I told him I needed the money back, now he stopped replying all together. I've never come across such a pathological liar and someone so devious in all my days. Im taking him to court to get my money back. Please I'm begging all you hardworking people out there, don't become a victim to this man's blatant lies and treachery anarchy Handyman and painting.
