Steve Olsen-Carpenter

We hired Steve Olsen after reading other reviews on Angie's List. We were looking to do an extensive, interior remodel of our small, 1940's cape cod. The biggest part of the job was enlarging our kitchen by incorporating the attached garage. This required a tremendous amount of structural work, installing new cabinets, tile and wood floors, a pantry, some windows, doors and a small exterior staircase. Steve spent time to analyze the architect's drawings, came up with a plan and gave us a fair quote. Due to its scope, the job took much longer than we anticipated, but he stuck to his quote. We found him to be meticulous and easy to work with. There isn't much that he has not seen or done in his may years of experience. If a problem arose, he gave it a lot of thought and came up with some options on how to proceed. He was patient, listened to our questions/suggestions, had good vision and took the time to get the job done correctly.

Completed the job when he said he would, very tidy, excellent price, job very well done. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

He was able to accommodate me within the week. He is prompt and efficient. Excellent quality work. I also want him to install pull-down stairs in house and install insulation.

Steve does an excellent job time and time again. I've hired him repeatedly. First for my kitchen remodel back in 2011 which came out gorgeous. And now for work in my office. Being that we are an audio/video production facility, we needed more sound proofing so we had Steve install an additional wall with closet space and doors for added sound insulation. We also had him rip out our old dated kitchen and install new IKEA cabinets, countertop, backsplash and tile flooring. It came out beautiful! See the pics I've posted.
I've now got Steve working on a new fireplace surround and mantle for my home which he is custom designing for me based on a photo I've shown him. 
He is reliable and does what he says he will do. He is honest and forthcoming on pricing and his recommendations. His prices are always fair if not better than other contractors.

He is professional and very honest . His prices are very reasonable and I am satisfied. He is very knowledgeable and follows code. He explains things to you to keep you informed of what he is doing. He does great work.

Steve is a perfectionist which worked out great fro us.  His price was more then fair.  I would recommand him again and again.

Everything went great from start to finish. We were fortunate to find Steve as he proved to be extremely knowledgeable, hard working and honest. Steve was very meticulous and transparent right from the planning/proposal stage through the work completion. One of the many things we really liked was that he consulted with us at every stage and had affordable solutions to any issues that cropped up during the project. We strongly recommend Steve and wish him all the best.

Meticulous in ripping out and disposal of old bathroom fixtures. Kept house as clean as possible during renovation. Supervised sub contractors (plumbing, electrical) at all times. Took longer then expected due to some design changes.

He was patient with all of my questions, raised concerned with issues as they arose and provided great solutions for whatever came up. He was always courteous and prompt or would at least check in with me if he was unable to come on a certain day, but he was always working consistently. Because I was impressed with his work ethic, I added crown moldings to other parts of the house and painting and that is why I am still working with him now.  He's great about coming up with new ideas to solve any issues that come up and I appreciated the time he took to explain things in detail. I never felt he was pressuring me for more work because of his honesty and he would even give me the lower cost options so I could decide how much to spend in the end. 

Overall, I'm very pleased I hired him and friends and family can't believe how beautiful my kitchen came out! They think I found the one contractor that actually DOES what he SAYS. And thats a rarity!
