We broke down at the Smithhaven mall and they were the closest service station. As this was out of town for us we were stuck with them especially since towing is expensive. I must admit that I assumed they wouldn't rake us over the coals because we told them to go ahead with the work. When it was done a battery and alternator came to an unheard of $600. I complained to someone named Jason who told me to calm down and he would see what he could do, he knocked it down to 500 which is still crazy. What really got me was when we went to the shop to pick up the car I saw a guy in the bay and I asked him if he was Jason and he said yes and then walked away. Stay away from this place.

They ripped us off big time. We have been going to them for years. We're regular customers with two cars. My husband's steering went on his older car but he loved that car. They towed it in and they called up and repaired that at a high cost already. It didn't work so they said we needed to do such and such. By the time they're done, they called us up with a price of $4100 on a car that was '98 Grand Prix. If they gave us a heads up further along that it was going to be that bad, we could put it as down payment for another car. The steering still had that weird noise at the end.

They were awesome! They got here quickly & were very professional. Hopefully I won't have to get a tow truck again, but if I do, I would call Double N because I was so happy with them.

Horrible... the brake light was still on when I picked it up the check engine light was still on, they were closing so I brought it to the attention of the young guy in the yard who commented " you brought it in that way"( hmmm after $1,200.00 in cash you think the lights would be off) asked for the manager was taken to Bryan.. he said he would research it and get back to me... been over 3 months and nothing.. these guys were recommended to me by regular mechanic DeePat who does not have the high bays for my diesel truck.. funny thing my friend Marti says I should bring it to the attention of Neil the owner.. hopefully this review will get to his attention

The service Double N Automotive provided went well, the price was okay. The workers were really friendly and attentive.

I was referred to this company for towing through AAA Roadside Assistance. I waited more than 3 hours for this company to pick me up on the side of the LIE in 90 degree weather. I was never given Double N's phone number to call directly I had to speak to AAA first and they relayed the message. I had to call 5 different times to ask for some idea when they thought they were coming. EVERY single time I called, AAA said that the dispatcher said 10 more minutes, sometimes it was 10-15 minutes but they never said actually how long I would wait. After 3 hours I was waiting after receiving my last "10 more minutes" phone call and they finally showed up. I was seconds away from just leaving my car on the service road and writing a note. I might have had my car towed but that's what I wanted ; ) I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with them and I would tell AAA the next time you are broken down near the Centereach area to request another tow company. Stay away!!!

I have never had a problem with them and I have been using them for 30 years.

I have used Double N Automotive since 1988 and they have always proven to be excellent in the work they have done on my vehicles. They are courteous and run a clean shop. This visit was no exception; everything went just perfectly. They have always had the best prices and best service in the area. I highly recommend them.
