Swimming Pools By Jack Anthony, Inc.

Had a little hiccup but worked out well in the end.

I hired Jack Anthony in 2002 to rebuild my gunite pool which had a crack in one wall and tiles falling off. Jack Anthony also told me my main drain was broken and couldn't be repaired. Not knowing anything about inground gunite pools, I stupidly hired Jack Anthony to perform the renovation. Within a couple of years I began to lose water at an alarming rate. I had to purchase an automatic pool filler to keep up with the loss. Finally, 18 years later, I hired a pool company to renovate the pool once again. I discovered that the water loss was because of faulty workmanship around the skimmers -- there were gaps between the skimmers and the beam of the pool. All Jack Anthony did was shove a little cement around the skimmers, which eventually fell out. The new company told me that I was losing water at all three skimmers and that Jack Anthony had done substandard work. The new company completely replaced the beam around the entire pool using rebar, installed new skimmers and used forms for the cement around them so there would be no gaps to leak, and they constantly measured and leveled everything they did. For example, the skimmers Jack Anthony installed were not all at the same level -- two were at one level and one was at a different level, making it difficult to maintain proper skimmer operation. Also, the cement debris that Jack Anthony left in the skimmers made the skimmer doors jam. And, much to my surprise, the new company quickly and easily repaired my main drain and replaced it with a new one. So for 18 years I didn't have a main drain when I actually could have. Thank you, Jack Anthony. I can't tell you how annoyed I became after finding out that Jack Anthony did such a shoddy job. And if you think I'm kidding, I have photos from 2002 that show the poor workmanship. I only wish that I had more knowledge about pools at that time. If I had, I would have sued them when I had the chance. Darn statute of limitations. Don't make the same mistake that I made.

They were dishonest and overpriced. I called several places all quoted hourly rates, except this place which quoted per visit, and I asked if that meant hourly, and they said no per visit. So I decided to go with them since I knew the job would require at least 1.5 hrs if not more making them a great choice. Then I get a call to confirm a time window for an hour's work, which made their rate quite high compared to other hourly ones. They blamed the misunderstanding on a new employee. Anyway, they said they'd work for an hour and 20 min. 1/2 my pool wasn't even done and the guy just kept putting chemicals without asking and the best part is they had to have my cc# to make an appt. I saw the charge on my cc bill for double the price. They are not honest and not worth the money and I will never use them again Very disappointed Home Advisor!

I hired Swimming Pools By Jack Anthony, Inc. to fix the crack in the pool, marble dust and the tiles. Unfortunately when marble dusting, the subcontractor who was hired by the original company didn't protect the coping and the pavers. Marble dust got over, pavers and coping. After complaint to the Swimming Pools By Jack Anthony, Inc. after 2 weeks, he sent someone to power wash and that didn't remove the marble dust from the pavers and the coping. Then he sent a men who poured muriatic acid on the coping and the pavers and he brushed in. That left the coping with stains and that process didn't remove the marble dust. In pouring the muriatic acid, it ran onto the grass around the pool. The acid burned the grass around the entire pool. He sent over someone to put grass seeds around the pool in October of 2017 and as of today the grass remain burnt around the entire pool.

They never showed! I orginally had a 3:00pm appointment. I called the office at 3:30 to follow up. I was then told the cleaner would reach me around 5-5:30. No one ever shower and when I call the office at 6:30pm got the recording. If you're looking for someone reliable don't hire them. They'll have your guest just sitting around looking at the pool instead of in it.

Friendly and helpful over the phone. sent a contract the same day and got the work done within a week.

They were completely Professional and extremely knowledgeable from the first call to the finalization of the project. Michael's vision is exceptional, there execution was enjoyable to watch!

They were on time, keep every thing clean

Very professional and courteous with good follow-thru. Began job immediately, as promised. Workers leave a trail of chlorine/chemicals along the wood deck after cleaning. Over-priced by comparison to similar work by other companies.

It took over 1 week to finally get a service date, but once they came my nagging pool problem was fixed expeditiously and professionally!!

Totally unreliable. Made multiple calls to repair skimmer in pool. Calls went from one season into the next. Despite promises for call back- "Anthony will call return your call in 15 minutes," no return calls received. Stay away from these people. They are completely lacking in professionalism.

Prompt service installing the new liner. Start up and running was not completed and sand from the pool was left for us to clean up.
