Foley came in and inspected our log home, pointed out some needed repairs which we did. However, he obviously knows nothing about log homes as one of his main issues cited was a need to install heat ducts to the upstairs and basement. The home was built 25 years ago, with heat ducts built on the main floor that allow for heat to rise upstairs to the vaulted ceilings and into the upstairs. In the basement we have radiant heat from the wood boiler pipes - the basement is the warmest in winter. So even though we made repairs and offered generous seller concessions, his ignorance about log home form and function caused our buyers to walk away. I would like to offer him a new tag line: "Foley inspections, killing real estate deals one inspection at a time."
