Pete's Contracting

 He has changed his name several times, which should give you quite a bit of information right there.  They set it and did all the site work and such.  It was a horrible experience.  They were a company that continued to add costs to things that were supposed to be included.  The house did not come according to our specifications. they were changed.  After we chose what we chose they took it upon themselves to change a couple of things.  They said they were going to fix a few of the problems we had.  For example, we wanted a fireplace flush with the wall but they bumped it out so we had two spaces on either side of our fireplace.  They said they could either bump it back or put built in book shelves.  Five years later we neither have a fire place that is flush with the wall and we don't have built in book shelves.  We had laminate flooring put in and they subcontracted that but didn't follow through with it.  Five years later as we sit, we still don't have the appropriate molding for the transitions into rooms. They also didn't follow through properly with their subcontracted electrician and some of our outlets don't work.  They did the site work for our septic system, they had the swells in upside down and were supposed to fix that.  In NY state it's supposed to be reviewed by the engineer and the engineer has to approve it before it's covered.  I have no idea if it's correct or not, they covered it before the engineer saw it.  When they set our house one of the trusses fell over and they never noticed it, my brother in law did.  Again, it was fixed and the hole in my ceiling was covered before I was able to see it.  They say it was fixed but I have no idea.  There are still gaps next to my foundation because when they back filled it they didn't do it properly.  They kept coming back and asking what else I felt needed fixed but they never showed.  They were never prompt.  It was horrible, I'm just grateful my marriage survived it.  The sister of the person who developed the contract went over the blue prints with us.  Then the changes were put on there and we asked for a copy of the blueprints with the changes and we haven't seen it.  It was seen by other professionals but they are saying it didn't happen.  We kicked his sister off the job and said we didn't want ny further contact with her, it was that bad.  She physically threatened my husband, it was charming.
