"Thank you for the positive feedback although I think Angie's list has a problem with the date this customer's report was posted because our only record of service for this customer was in 2010."
"Well here's a tough one to respond to. We have a customer by this last name but the first name is different. The date would be correct for one of the service visits. The price after tax was $84.24 but we would rather people didn't include sales tax in a report of our cost because we are forced to collect it and turn it over to our magnanimous government, Our cost was $78. Assuming this report is from our customer by a different first name, he bought 1 new tower computer, 1 refurbished laptop and 1 new laptop from us in 2006. In the same year we have records of 4 service invoices, 3 of which were free of charge. So while we are always happy to receive A ratings, it's hard to understand where the Cs & B stem from, especially when considering his detailed comments"
"I assume this customer is in our database under her husband's name. We have never to my knowledge seen them. The member is very pleasant. We have 17 computer purchase and service invoices under his name going back several years. The date of this service corresponds to the date they would have had one of their computers in our shop for a virus issue. We do not recommend dealing with virus issues in the customer's home because much of the work involves starting a scan process and then moving on to some other work until that scan is complete - then coming back to start another scan - and so on. This process can take all day but we only charge for the actual "hands on" time while on our bench. This usually amounts to 1 hour. We would have to charge the customer for multiple hours for the same work at their location. We recommend and provide in-home service for many other customers involving issues that require less time. If the member gives us a "D" for having to pay $100 (actually, it was less) imagine what she would think of paying double or triple that."
"Thanks for the positive feedback but again there seems to be a problem with the dates Angie's List attaches to these reports. We worked on this customer's computer in 2009 and the cost was $78 before tax."
"Thanks for the gracious feedback. We have 2 customers named Mary Dwileski, 1 has a middle initial. We do not keep addresses in our database, only phone numbers. We also have an M. Dwileski. But none had any service work done in 2006 so Angie's List may have made a mistake there. Seems to be an ongoing problem - makes it hard to be sure what we are responding to. Accuracy is important when you're dealing with people's reputations."
