We guess that they are good but we don't know. We really did not have too much experience with the lawn care. They come when they are supposed to and do what they are supposed to. Their pricing is very competitive and that is why we went with them as they had a good pricing. The quality of their service is good. We really haven't had to call them or anything as they just come. They are very good in terms of their professionalism.

We have used Southern Tier Lawn Care for about three years for lawn mowing and general cleanup. This is a small company; the owner is not doing the weekly lawn work, but is easy to get on the phone if necessary. He also oversees crews and will be there helping do the work on larger jobs. Over the years we have used them for more and more. A visit (mowing, trimming edges, etc) is more than you would pay the teenager next door, but they are extremely careful with details. Our Binghamton yard looks great, thanks to them. This fall, we used them for close to $2,000 of landscaping -- installing some large shrubs, pulling out old stuff, creating a bed under a tree where no grass would grow, etc. They also came in and completed some work that another company had left hanging after doing a patio install. Prompt, extremely considerate, good ideas. They don't sell plants; you buy them and they'll install (or they will pick them up from your local garden store if you wish). Karen was happy to give a lot of help and advice when I wanted it, though. I didn't feel pressured to do a bigger job than I wanted, which was nice. I suspect you could get a solo person to do the lawn and landscaping work a bit cheaper on an hourly basis, but I couldn't find anyone I liked better, at any price.
