We had experience with this company before as our landlord used them at our previous home and there they were professional and did exactly what was asked. Knowing that, we called them and didn't do due diligence by calling anyone else because we figured we had already seen their work.
I was very, very specific on the phone about what we wanted. We both have experience cutting up trees, but because the trees were so close to our neighbor we wanted someone to literally bring the tree down and we would take it from there. We didn't need it cut up, we didn't need it removed, we just needed the tree brought down in whatever amount of pieces necessary so as not to harm our neighbors house. We have fireplaces that we use during the winter and this was good wood, so I wanted *everything* left behind.
When they showed up, I made sure to reiterate that I wanted it dropped into the yard. The next thing I know, they are taking the smaller limbs and shredding them. And even though I went out and talked to the first guy I could find and asked - AGAIN - to please leave the limbs and we would take care of it, NOTHING was left but the main trunks.
That was a lot of firewood and a lot of kindling turned into mulch for someone else. So not only did they NOT do what we asked, we feel a bit robbed.
I am not happy about this. If we had asked them to clear it away, the job would have been A's, but because they literally went way overboard and took half of the wood for mulch, it's C's. If we hadn't had experience cutting up wood, or I hadn't been as clear as I possibly could about what it was we needed done, I wouldn't be this mad.
I also didn't know until they showed up that morning that the stumps wouldn't be ground by them, that they have that subcontracted out to someone else who would be by "Sometime this week." Just a miserable experience for something that should have been relatively painless.

Communication setting up the estimate and scheduling the work went smoothly. The work was well done, and overall there were no problems. I would use them again.

BME showed up in a timely manner and worked at this project with a large enough crew to handle the job expeditiously, Within several hours time, more than a dozen trees, many of them 40 or more feet tall, were trimmed to create a park-like appearance at this property. A chipper was used as work progressed and the grounds were raked after bigger branches were removed. The job was handled very professionally, and I highly recommend and will definitely use this company again.

They came, checked the tree, up he went chain-saw in tow... down the tree came. Always sad for me to lose a tree, but living in the forest it has to happen sometimes. Mr Ellerson has taken care of a number of tees here - most notably a huge old white pine and a large widowmaker over the bridge with no damage to other structures and minimal impact on other trees.
