This is the second time I have used Don’s Hardwood Flooring. Don and his crew were professional and always on time. I was always keep informed of the progress. I am very happy with the floors. They came out beautiful. Would definitely use them again.

The service was excellent, they came on time, clean, they went the extra miles and professional. As an interior designer I will recommend them to others and I've been using them personally for more than 20 years now.

Very pleased with the outcome! I just bought a house and wanted the floors refinished in the upstairs living area (bedrooms, hallway, living room, dining room, stairway). Don made me comfortable when he came out to do the estimate. He explained exactly what he would do, and the time frame involved. I had questions and, Don's input was invaluable; he is a true professional and knows his business. Don and his team were punctual and ready to start the job, as planned. Although the floor-stain color was pretty much decided, once the samples were applied, we started 2nd guessing and again, Don's input was important and the final color choice was perfect. Don kept me informed daily, as the work progressed. Don is a pleasure to work with. Bottom line - my floors are beautiful! I highly recommend Don.

I am a repeat customer with Don. We used his services to lay new hardwood flooring as a part of a kitchen renovation. His work is impeccable. He is an absolute expert when it comes to hardwood flooring - specifically when it comes to installing and/or repairing flooring in an existing home. It is relatively easy to install in new construction, but when retrofitting an existing space, it is critically important to use a contractor who has seen it all before. Don's advice was always practical and he started and completed the job on time and on budget. It was my pleasure to work with him again. I highly, highly recommend him.

Happy with the results. Don is very knowledgeable on the refinishing process and has good ideas on what would work best for the flooring plan. The work was very clean and precise with no staining on the walls or baseboard heat. He also did a great job of matching the stain to adjoining rooms. Don always updated us on what would be happening each day--good communication.

So many contractors advertise "no job is too big or too small". Well I had a small job and the other 4 flooring contractors that I called wanted no part of my small job. When I contacted Don he responded immediately. He was sympathetic to the fact that my son wanted to sleep in his room for Christmas and took the job. Don arrived early and finished quicker than estimated. He was professional and friendly. He insisted on cleaning up after his work was done. When I need my floors refinished this summer I will not hesitate to call Don.

Don was fantastic. The floors look phenomenal. The work was done as promised at a fair price. Don clearly communicated and was quick to respond. He had excellent recommendations to make the new and old floors appear seamless and consistent throughout the entire first floor (kitchen, dining room, entry and living room). Ok on time and professional

Don was easy to reach and very flexible when scheduling for an estimate. He arrived early for our first appointment and talked me through his general process, products used, and how he calculated his pricing while he took measurements. Separately, we were also hiring painters so Don explained the best timing for each crew to get their work done without getting in the way of the other. It was easy to pick up on his experience and pride in his work. A handwritten estimate was given on-the-spot and Don''s numbers seemed very fair. Ultimately, of three flooring companies Don came in lowest while also leaving us feeling most confident. His crew was punctual and efficient and Don kept me involved throughout the process. After the floors were sanded and ready for stain Don made three sample patches for us to look at before deciding color. We texted him our choice that evening. He also discussed the finish options and seemed happy when we went for the richer application. The rest of the process was quick and easy, and they easily finished on schedule. Don deducted a little off the final invoice after he realized the floor repairs and tile removal weren't as significant as originally suspected. Even though we ended up adding the third half-flight of stair tread to the project the final total wasn't far off the starting estimate. Overall it was a great working experience and the floors look fantastic! When we are ready to turn that walk-up attic into a master suite Don will no-doubt be getting a call to install the floors.

They did everything we asked. Two did the sand and stain. One did the polycoat. It took them 3 days to complete the work. They left the area clean.

We hired Don to refinish the hardwood floors in our new house. We were under a time constraint, so we needed the work to be done by a strict deadline. Don was responsive, friendly and clear about what he would do and how long it would take. The work was finished on time, and the floors simply looked amazing.

Excellent! Don is a true artist and also a wonderful chap. He has a beautifully unique style - handwritten quotations, an impressive memory capable of recalling every last detail of the job, an impeccable attention to detail, efficient problem solving and most importantly -- HE CARES ABOUT EACH AND EVERY JOB and has the extensive experience to perform beautiful work. I received six quotations to refinish the floors in our 1917 Victorian home. Don was the only flooring professional who took the time (and had the common sense) to pull up our floor grates and measure the thickness of the existing wood and assess the condition prior to quoting the refinishing job. Don suggested replacing the dining room and living room floors. This was NOT an up-sell. This was Don being a trusted adviser before I even trusted him. He said he could refinish the dining room and living room floors but that I ran a serious risk of the floors splintering and/or requiring the floors to be replaced soon thereafter. He promptly quoted me both options and in the end I decided to replace the floors. I could not be any happier. Don communicated throughout the entire process, performed A+ quality work and has followed up to ensure my wife and I continue to be happy (*side note* after an extensive renovation project Don's floors are still my wife's favorite part of the house). I recommend him without hesitation and would instantly hire him again for any flooring project.

Don and his staff were on time and professional. They worked quickly with little disruption to our home. We used him 10 years also and those floors still took brand new.

Don responded promptly to my inquiry, was very flexible in setting up the appointment for a quote and arrived each day as
scheduled.  My husband and I both work out of the home so we needed Don to be flexible in working around our schedules and he was very agreeable.  I had one bedroom with significant wear and tear, one that had never been finished (just covered by carpet) and one that had been finished but currently had carpeting on it; all had a different 'look' to them colorwise.  The team pulled up all the carpets, moved all the heavier pieces of furniture for us and then put those back when the job was done.  The floors now look like they are brand new, and all "match" in color and sheen.  They kept the dust to a minimum and worked speedily but with attention to quality and detail.  The project was fully completed in 4 days.   I really put off doing this job because of the thought of what a hassle it would be to move everything and the disruption it would cause.  It was a hassle, but not because of Don.  We just had 20 years of living to sort through and move.  Don's team made everything go smoothly and the finished product is SOOOO worth it.  Great job!

Don was the only vendor who came to our house to inspect the floors and quote the price. He explained the entire process. We scheduled the worker and everything was done to our complete satisfaction.

I cant say enough good things about Don and his team.  He came to our new home for an estimate.  I had assumed he would take measurements, explain the process, leave and send me a quote (like all our other vendors).  Not only did he measure, but he sat down with me and hand wrote an itemized estimate for each room, went over the entire process-how long it would take ("six days exactly"), what products he uses and why, options, etc. He was in and out in 10 minutes which was impressive for a 3800sq ft. house that's mostly wood floors.  He was forthright and personal and very easy to talk to.  He respectfully offered opinions. He was one of those guys that immediately stops your search because there is no need to look any further.  We hired him.  We kept in constant contact regarding our closing and scheduling the floor work because we were on a tight schedule.  When we closed on the house, he was in the next day, and knowing our schedule(and state of mind) somehow magically finished the job a full day early!  The work is impeccable, our new floors are gorgeous.

Don is a rare find. I hired him to refinish the 65 y/o original pine flooring in our new-to-us home recently, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Not only was he able to accommodate us despite changing closing dates and general scheduling chaos, he also did the job incredibly fast, within a couple of days! He also educated us on proper care and offered several very valuable tips for other home improvements we could make. Such an honest, great guy with a good sense of humor, too. I look forward to recommending him to my friends and family, and hiring him again to do a set of spiral stair steps and possibly my family room (currently carpeted). THANKS, DON!

Showed up on time, explained the process and provided a quote the same day.  He did the work when we were away on vacation and he kept in contact during the process.   When we returned home, the floors and staircase were beautiful and there was no trace of dust from the sanding.  The floors and staircase turned out exactly as we had discussed.  Would definitely use Don again and recommend to family and friends.

Don was conscientious about keeping us updated. He phoned if he would be late. He and his workers came on time and did a good job on the floors. We are very pleased with how they came out. Don knows his product and does good work. Although a bit more expensive, Don did provide the water based coating that we wasted.
