The concrete patio was extremely thick (8-12" thick) and had heavy wire mesh in the middle. All the concrete had to be jackhammered, which took approximately 6 hours by 3 men. The excess to the work site was fenced in and all materials had to be wheel barreled or carried through a 4' gate making the project more difficult. Dug down to about 9" of earth, added estimated 6" of crush/run stone, tamped down and then added stone dust and then tamped down again and again. Entire paver surface edge was bordered by an edge & spike containment system. Finally the patio and walkway bricks were treated by brushing in the joints (grouted) with Polymeric sand. We used Cambridge pavers 4"x8" Herringbone pattern, Ruby Onyx color with onyx natural blended in. He also installed 2 underground drains to accommodate rain gutters. After all the brick was in he brought in topsoil and landscaped the edges, seeded and laid straw down. Job was completed. Mr. Morris did an outstanding job in the layout and design of our new brick patio, new pathway and new steps with split block with inlaid brick. Mr. Morris and his men were punctual and worked harder than anyone I've ever seen, I might add that several days were high 80 degrees. The work was completed in 4 1/2 days and the end results were "OMG" that is beautiful. I would highly recommend Mr. Morris to anyone who wants a master brick paver, a master at design and layout.
