"Like most negative reviews, there are 2 sides to the story. Every project we have installed for the past 37 years has some “good will” built into the price. I define good will as the cost of keeping a client satisfied when issues arise outside of the warranty. What Mr. [Member Name Removed] failed to mention was that we came back to repair his patio when the base washed out, due to a gutter issue beyond our control. We repaired his patio at no charge even though it was an issue not covered under warranty. The planting was done in the late fall of 2022 and the spring of 2023. We always leave the plants approximately 1 inch to 1.5 inches above soil grade. The reason for this is to allow for a couple of inches of mulch while still allowing the plants to get the necessary air to the roots. The plants that died were 5 of the 6 arborvitae located behind the workshop. The quote provided to Mr. [Member Name Removed] clearly states our plant warranty, not in the fine print, as “There is a 1 year 100% replacement warranty on trees and shrubs with proper care and maintenance, including watering.” The plants died because they did not receive adequate or consistent water through the growing season. The plants did not die from the way they were planted. None-the-less, we did offer to remove the dead plants, and install weed barrier and stone at no charge. We also offered a refund of $400.00. Mr. [Member Name Removed] declined both options. We are refusing to replace plants that did not receive proper watering as is clearly required in the warranty. We do try to keep our clients happy, but we cannot replace inadequately watered plant material, or we would have to pass those costs on to other customers. This policy has kept our customers happy for 37 years and we hope it continues to do so for many more. Best regards, Roger Restorff, CNLP President"
