My experience with Resorff's was fine throughout the period when work was being done, the disappointing experience came afterwards. We noticed that plants and shrubs were not being planted very deep, roots were exposed and an Arborvitae simply fell over. Our disappointment evolved as Restorff's felt no obligation to replace any of the plants/shrubs and trees that eventually died within the first year. Now we're faced with what maybe thousands of dollars of Dead plants we paid top dollar for and am reieving nothing but Excuses from the Owner/ Roger.
Response from Restorff's Landscape Service
"Like most negative reviews, there are 2 sides to the story. Every project we have installed for the past 37 years has some “good will” built into the price. I define good will as the cost of keeping a client satisfied when issues arise outside of the warranty. What Mr. [Member Name Removed] failed to mention was that we came back to repair his patio when the base washed out, due to a gutter issue beyond our control. We repaired his patio at no charge even though it was an issue not covered under warranty. The planting was done in the late fall of 2022 and the spring of 2023. We always leave the plants approximately 1 inch to 1.5 inches above soil grade. The reason for this is to allow for a couple of inches of mulch while still allowing the plants to get the necessary air to the roots. The plants that died were 5 of the 6 arborvitae located behind the workshop. The quote provided to Mr. [Member Name Removed] clearly states our plant warranty, not in the fine print, as “There is a 1 year 100% replacement warranty on trees and shrubs with proper care and maintenance, including watering.” The plants died because they did not receive adequate or consistent water through the growing season. The plants did not die from the way they were planted. None-the-less, we did offer to remove the dead plants, and install weed barrier and stone at no charge. We also offered a refund of $400.00. Mr. [Member Name Removed] declined both options. We are refusing to replace plants that did not receive proper watering as is clearly required in the warranty. We do try to keep our clients happy, but we cannot replace inadequately watered plant material, or we would have to pass those costs on to other customers. This policy has kept our customers happy for 37 years and we hope it continues to do so for many more. Best regards, Roger Restorff, CNLP President"

This is the 3rd time we have had Restorff's to do hardscape and landscape work in our yard and we still have nothing but good things to say about his business and the results we get. Things may not happen with him as quickly as the impatient may like, but if you relax and just let him run the show, you won't be disappointed. It's probably also a good idea to get on his schedule before March if you can.

We had booked to go with another company first, but they took a month to schedule the work, and then increased their price days before the job began. I canceled that contract, got back my deposit and called Roger at Restorff's. He beat the other company's price, and showed up the next day to begin and complete the work!! Crew was professional and neat. Would definitely recommend Restorff's. Beautiful work!

I never had a problem with them. I was very pleased with their work and the people who did the work. They were very willing to take the time to go all over the possible and did what I wanted. They were very accommodating. The work that they did was some of my requests that I wanted gardening and they did supply with the plants. So I would be calling them again when I would be changing the plants.

I cannot say enough good things about this contractor. He is knowledgeable, organized, guarantees his work for two years, and has excellant employees working for him who were neat and polite and able to carry on unsupervised when he was struck down by swine flu during most of our reconstruction. He has the right kinds and sizes of equipment for doing jobs and keeping yard damage to a minimum. He accommodated other contractors that needed to be involved for our project even though it meant relaying pavers that were uplifted to install posts for a gazebo.
