PC Expanders of Amherst, Inc

I took my failed hard drive to PC Expanders in June.  I received a phone call shortly after explaining that it would not be serviceable and that I could pick it up when able.  Since it was not immediately serviceable, and I was probably looking at a $600 cost of taking it to a clean room, it was not my first priority to get it back immediately.  I admittedly procrastinated in returning to the store.  Upon returning in September, I was told that it had been thrown away.  This is reasonable, but I just told the technician that it would have been nice to receive a call warning me of this.  I was met with yelling, swearing, judgmental remarks, and just plain juvenile behavior.
I understand that I did not clearly read the company policy and that I'm at fault for the disposal of my property, but there is no excuse for the way I was treated at this business.
