Hired O'Grady Brothers after getting 8-10 estimates because they were the lowest ($5200 for siding, trim, and soffits). My house is sided with cement board and trim is wrapped in aluminum, so it is a relatively simply paint job. They were fast and friendly. They didn't do some of the prep work that we talked about, which I didn't feel great about since prep is important. There was also a lot of paint on the windows when they finished, and when I asked them to clean the windows, they didn't clean them well. The painting crew had some people who didn't seem very experienced and some more skilled painters. Overall, they were cheaper than others and fast. Since my house didn't require lots of prep, I would recommend them for that type of work, but I can't recommend them for more complicated jobs or if you are looking for the highest quality painters. Maybe they would be better on a more elaborate paint job, but I thought that they cut corners on my house, which didn't impress me.

Things started out OK. They came in and took about 10 days to paint the entire house. That was fine. It would have taken me far longer. The problem was the end. They told me the work was done, walk through (by myself) and let them know how it looked. As I dug into things, they forgot to paint around door and window frames, there were missed spots in every room (both ceilings and walls), wall paint on the ceiling in one of the rooms and a large missed spot on an air return cover. I pointed all of this out to them on the phone, they told me it was all fixed, but out of a list of 25 things they fixed 3. After cancelling a couple of appointments to meet there, one because one of the brothers took a nap, they finally came out to fix the issues. They did a few but still not all. I was done with them and said I would fix the rest. A few days after we moved in we noticed the paint on the ceiling in a bathroom peeling horribly. They used an oil based primer that didn't dry completely before they painted over it, so it peeled in huge areas. They came back once, sanded it down and offered to paint it right away. Well, if it's still curing it would peel again so anyone knows you can't do that. The bottom line is after about 2 months I am still dealing with peeling paint and waiting to finish painting the ceiling myself. I haven't even mentioned the paint splatters that they got on the furniture and our stainless steel refrigerator, but I think you get the idea. The price was fair but we definitely got what we paid for and I would not hire them again or recommend them to anyone I know and like.

fantastic, these two brothers worked diligently through brutal heat, but they sanded, and painted two coats, by hand, the house came out beautifully. only issue is that they are hard to get in contact with by phone, since they are generally on the job, and do not have office staff. to answer. just be persistent and keep calling , they are worth it. great work at very reasonable price! and really nice personable guys.

There was a lot of scraping for the amount of things that needed paint. But it hadn't been done in 14 years. Mostly white trim around doors and windows. Black and white on doors and shutters and fancy molding around front door. Painted all the trim even into the peak of the house. Everything looks lovely. Joe cleaned everything and vacuumed all the areas where paint chips were. Very, very pleased.

Kevin, his brother and a helper were very professional, friendly and cooperative. They cleaned up each night before leaving.
Unfortunately they were unfamiliar with my type of storm/screen system and they were not re-installed properly. However, I called Kevin and he returned on a Saturday to correct the situation.
I would be very likely to use them again if the paint job holds up better than it did with the last three contractors. I am optimistic that it will because of all the sanding and prep that went into the job. (Hopefully this won't be an issue for quite a few years.)

I was very pleased with the work done. There was a crew of 3 and the owner was on site each day they worked. The old paint was sanded down with electric sanders, the shingles were primed and painted. Most of the windows got a coat of paint as well as areas of the underside of the roof overhang. In addition, they applied a coat of paint to a porch floor and repaired some spots on window frames and shingles that were badly deteriorated. All the areas painted were agreed on beforehand and the work was completed as agreed. Clean up was thorough and I'd recommend them to anyone looking for exterior painting.

First off I will admit that I was a little sceptic with buying and paying for their "deal" that they had on angie's list without even knowing them OR seeing their work personally . My whole LIFE has been don't pay for more than 1/2 of the price of the job until the work is completely done. But after talking to Kevin several times(each time he did call back within a day or two ) and then meeting with his brother Joe , who came to look at my house . I was sold , so I paid all up front and waited my turn to get
my house painted.
sMy house is 2,500 square feet 2 stories tall and built in 1950 and all wood , I have lived here over 25 years and I never had the house painted by anyone other than myself and I would paint one section a year. Since I don't climb on the roof anymore to do the painting on the 3 dormers It was time to hire someone.
And without a doubt the O' GRADY Brothers and their painting crew was one of the BEST things I have ever done.
Not only did they power wash the house from top to bottom, they then scraped and sanded all the bad spots (it took them a day and half to do that) they then primed everything and not only painted the whole house BUT 4 doors and ALL the windows.And they did it ALL in 4 days ,YES 4 days, something that would have taken me 4 years OR an entire summer and doing nothing but painting every day.
They cleaned up after themselves everyday and were very kind to ALL my wife's plants that were around the house, taking time to cover and to rope off the bushes.
They are and will always be my guys for any painting that I need , my wife is already picking the colors that she wants them to paint our rooms inside.
Believe me you will be more than HAPPY with their work.
Everyday I look at my house and can't believe how nice and clean it looks .

He arrived on time, performed the repairs and then painted each room. Completed then entire job in under 2 days. Cleaned up each day. The rooms look brand new again. The one seam is still not perfect, even after the repair. but looks so much better than it did before. I would definitely call him back for future jobs at our home!

They were really marvelous. It was a rainy season, so they had to extend their time more than a month. They were very courteous and they cleaned up after themselves. They don't scrape and wash like most people do. They used something that's used to refinish furniture so that you get little scrapings from it. Then they gathered up the scrapings in a bag and gave it to the local people to take that away. They matched the color perfectly and made sure everything was the same shade. They were going to charge me $5000, but everything was so perfect and I was so pleased, I gave them $6500.

"This house was a pleasure since I liked the homeowner so much.The house is very unique in that it is over 140 years old,I can't remember exactly ,but it's been kept up very nicely.We primed the entire house with white oil base primer and finished with a flat white oil base which gives the home an amazing traditional look.There are decks about four feet wide which almost surround the whole house,which we painted with grey oil based deck paint.All these decks have a roof built over them which make them great porch,s.They also have four inch wide post,s which look as though they were once used as hitching post,s.What an amazing house .I really liked the homeowner and felt priveledged to paint this house.It looks like something straight out of a civil war movie tucked back in the woods.Thanks [Member Name] ."

We bought the special in November, but weren't ready for them to paint until March. We had them paint our living room (because of the size it counted as 2 rooms) and our daughter's bedroom. They did a much better job than the previous painters and were pleasant to work with. Our daughter had some special requests for her room which they were willing to do, even though it took extra work. I told them I assumed it would cost extra and the extra cost of $40 was reasonable. Her room looks amazing and was worth the extra cost!
I wanted them to give us an estimate for trim work, but unfortunately they are booked until the end of the March and in April they switch to exterior painting only. He said they would be available for more interior painting in the fall. I haven't decided yet whether to wait until they are available, look for another painter on Angie's List or to attempt the work myself.
I gave them a B grade for responsiveness only because of the delay in returning my calls once we were ready for the work to be done.
