Mr Tire

The tire install was near closing but the Manager, Sean Burke, made sure it was completed and very courteous about it. So far these are the only tires I recall in recent memory that do not have a slow leak which happens often at other shops. The next week I had the alignment and I must say it is one of the best I have ever had. No more pulling to the side or wandering when hitting bumps. The car was such a pleasure to drive that my wife requisitioned it for herself. The inspection passed except for the emissions which was my fault because I had disconnected the battery and prevented the computer from storing adequate data. Mr. Burke was proactive and got a 10 day extension so I could drive it and accumulate enough emissions data for it to pass 10 days later. I'm very glad I found a good shop near home.

ook the vehicle to another place on delaware.Within a2 weeks exhaust was making noise again. Took it make and they said it was a different pipe. Said it would cost about 200 more. I asked why wasn't it replaced before. and quot;it didn't leak.and quot; I did not think I should have to pay a whole new labor charge for replacing the very next link in the chain. T

Called Mr. Tire and asked them if they could get my car in the day of. They told me they should have plenty of time, and I could come right in.
Shortly after coming in (I didn't leave or get picked up, just took a walk while my car was there), they pulled my car in the garage. The new tires/oil change they performed was quick and they left the courtesy sticker on my windshield that told me when/what mileage the next oil change was due.
Would go back again.

It went fantastically well. I called on a Saturday morning and got an appointment for 2pm. Dropped car off, described problem and asked about coupons and special offers I saw for them on the web. The service rep (Sean) was highly professional and efficient; he said that coupon pricing and whatever specials applied would be done by him. Left phone number for him to call when the problem was diagnosed to get approval for any repairs. Received a call from Sean in about an hour describing the problem (metal on metal for rear brakes), the fix (new pads and rotors), and the cost (about $285 for the brakes plus the oil change at $22 and taxes). He said the car would be ready on about an hour. I got a call about an hour later (while already on way to Mr. Tire) telling me that the car was ready. I received good feedback from Sean on the condition of other key items (tires [Plenty of wear left and wearing evenly], front brakes [actual measure of pad which showed much wear left]) and was efficiently checked out and on my way with a total turnaround time of less than 2.5 hours. I found the price to be very fair (not too cheap [they used premium parts] but not too expensive [I would not have been too surprised by a price more like $400]) and the experience was outstanding.

I chose to go here because they were open late enough that I could go after work and I could can an appointment right away. I don't know how long a NYS inspection usually takes, but I made an appointment, they took my keys and info right on time, and then it tool an hour and twenty minutes to run the inspection and change a light bulb. I would have appreciated them telling me up front when I got there how long it would take so I could have run across the street on an errand, or providing me with a time estimate after 45 minutes or so. The car really did need a new light bulb--tiny brake light-- so that was justified. However, when I paid there was an extra charge for $6.99 for and quot;surface preparation cleaners and lubricants, front brakesand quot; that I was not told about and did not approve. I don't think it was anything the car needed to pass inspection, since it did no appear on the NYS report. If it was necessary, I would have appreciated being told. At $6.99, I didn't argue, as after being there so longI just wanted to go home.

The cost above includes tax, NYS inspection ($21-$5 off), the brake light ($20.49), and whatever they used on the brakes ($6.99).

If I had kown it would take so long I would have gone somewhere and just dropped the car off in the morning and gone back for it after work.

Dennis, the manager, and Steve, the mechanic, were the men I dealt with. Both were professional yet personable. The work took longer than the original estimated time, but labor costs were calculated into the job performed, not the time it took. Also, they had given me a ride home so I was not waiting. I will go to Mr. Tire again and would recommend them.
