The plumber arrived several hours after we called. He gave a clear explanation of the problem and had the problem fixed in a short time. He did a very nice job of cleaning up. The charge was quite reasonable. We would certainly call this company again if we have another plumbing problem.

I had sewage from my first floor overflowing out through an open pipe in the basement of my new house. Gross! I called on a Monday morning and they sent someone out within 2 hours. Joe called to tell me he was on his way. He was friendly and professional. Looked for the cheapest easiest solution first and explained how he arrived at the conclusion that he should snake the sewer main. He also talked to me a little about back-up sump pumps (a whole separate issue for another day) and told me what to buy at the hardware store so that I can close the open pipe in the basement myself. Here's hoping this all works and there are no more overflows! Joe was obviously knowledgeable and worked very quickly. The repair cost about half what I expected it to. I'll definitely call them again.

During recent blizzard, 40mph, -5F on exposed West wall of our house, some pipes froze. A cracked elbow in hot water supply behind upstairs bathroom caused a flood when thawing. We got problem isolated, but had no hot water. First plumber to respond didn't want to get involved in old galvanized, fearing everything would collapse. Matt Kandefer at least came out to look. He dispatched Joe, who installed shut off valve for upstairs hot water heater. At least we had hot water in the ground floor, knew where cross connection was in basement laundry set up. $145
Joe was able to come back a few days later to look at cracked elbow. Worst situation would have been fishing in Pex from basement, 2 or 3 day job. Joe was able to remove damaged pieces and connect in some Pex. Situation under control in two hours. $266 Plumber's skill and quick work kept cost of both jobs under control.
Existing galvanized iron pipe may be good for 80 more years. Plumbing under control for now. I still have to deal with insurance company over soggy drywall, figure out how cold drafts get inside walls, but good for now.

Our sump pump was on the way out (very loud and ran for a long time) we went on Angie's list looking for a plumber and called 4 of them for estimates for a new sump pump, installed. A week later it stopped working we called Matthew Kandefer Plumbing and they came out the next day, at our request. They were there at the time they said they would be in the morning. The plumber was very efficient, the job done quickly. We will definatly will call them again and recommend them to freinds. Fair prices, the job very close to estimate, no" suprise" extra costs.

Great service. Everything went smoothly, they were able to get the job done exactly when they said they would. The price was as quoted over the phone, there was no need for an in-home estimate and no suprises when I received the bill. The job was done professionally and there was no mess to clean up after they had left. I highly recommend Matt Kandefer Plumbing for all your plumbing needs.

Initially, the plumber attempted to clean the drain to release the plugged area. Unfortunately, this did not work. I paid $125 for the attempt in unplugging the drain for a previous visit. This particular survey relates directly to the installation of the new line. He showed up on time, took extra care in my home, and cleaned up the work area. I appreciated his attempt to unplug the drain in hopes of saving me some money, but it did not work. He gave me a 10% senior citizen discount.

Joe the plumber was on time, polite and as usual the price was moderate! Joe saved me the expense of having to buy and install a new toilet by using his experience to improvise and fix a part. He also showed me that I just needed to tighten the nut on the water line outside to stop the leak. I trusted him to get me a very good faucet, which he did and had it installed in a half hour. I have dealt with another firm for many years and I can tell you that they would not have done this.
