Kitchen backsplash was left unfinished up at the top underneath the cupboards. It was not readily apparent, and Bruce did not make me aware of this. When I did notice it a few weeks later, I contacted him first by phone and then by text message. He ignored my text messages for a couple of weeks. He eventually responded and stated he would not complete the work , or would do so for an additional charge. Also I believe the caulk was applied inappropriately because it cracked all the way around the area where the counter meets the backsplash within five months.

Bruce did not come to see the areas to be worked on ahead of time. He provided only a phone estimate. The first scheduled day of work, Bruce sent a text a half hour after his scheduled arrival time stating "something came up". Bruce was here 2 days, and I initially thought the work itself turned out well. A few weeks later, however, I noticed that underneath the cupboards in the kitchen, was a large area of tiling that was not finished off at the top( about 6 feet in length), leaving a messy grout/plaster strip. I called Bruce and he asked me to send pictures to him. I did so. He then texted me saying that he "believed" he mentioned to us that there would have to be trim put up in that area. (He did not). I sent several additional texts to him asking that he complete the job. He ignored all of them. The work that is necessary would be very minor for a contractor and it would seem that a true professional would want to behave ethically, as well as want a satisfied customer. My ratings therefore reflect the fact that the job is unfinished, along with his unwillingness to correspond with me and correct the problem.

Drywall dust throughout the house every day!

August 2015, three months later and he still hasn't finished installing baseboards, backsplash and towel bars.  We discussed a towel bar in the bathtub area and I told him where to put it.  He left without installing it on his final day.  I have no towel bars in my bathroom yet 8/8/15.

Three and a half weeks without a shower in the only bathroom in the house.

Left garbage in my garage that I had to cart to the curb.  Left garbage in my spare room that I had to remove.
