HSBC has been good to work with regarding the paying off of the mortgage. Even if we are a few days late with the payment, the late fee is modest, only about $5. When we initially got the mortgage, they were also good to work with. The agent even negotiated with our lawyer on our behalf for a lower legal fee, and helped us deal with our somewhat complicated financial situation. We also got an awesomely low fixed interest rate.

We feel like we got the best mortgage we could get at the time. Everyone we worked with there was very helpful and accommodating. We thought they handled everything in a very professional and friendly manner. We didn't have to pay them anything and I believe we have the best rate that was available at that time.
