We've had Horbett service our furnace and air conditioning since we moved in almost 5 years ago. Originally the furnace had stickers for them to call in case of service. Every appointment has been smooth and well done. We had one service call where our furnace wasn't kicking on, that was fixed within a half hour at a reasonable price for a service call. We've had two preventative maintenance calls (one for air, one for furnace) and both went well. On the furnace call, he noticed a dripping in our allergen filter and corrected it at no cost. They always show up on time and with everything they need. Calling the main office to schedule has never been an issue and they've even called if they had a cancel to move the appointment up. They do only accept cards through a call back to the main office and a confirmation offer (kind of old school and people might take issue with that). Our air conditioning unit is 25 yrs old and we were recommended that we replace it soon since the freon is no longer made for the unit. That being said, it was a no-pressure suggestion and the unit still runs smoothly without issue. We are looking at installing a learning thermostat and replacing the air conditioning unit in the near future, both will be with Horbett.

My A/C broke down on one of the hottest days of the year. I called Horbett Heating and Cooling. They responded in a timely manner. The technician Dave was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He quickly found the problem. I had a bad capacitor and I was low on refrigerant. He repaired the unit and had us up and cooling down in no time. I was very satisfied with the price and the service. I will not hesitate to use them again.

Something was making a funny noise. At that point in time they told me that I would need a new furnace, which was not true. I thought it was a good service. It wasn't a repair or anything, it was just maintenance. I thought they were doing a great job. They cleaned it, they explained stuff to me and they were friendly. I learnt how they do business afterwards. At the time I thought maybe it was good, but then I spoke with the company who came out and actually fixed my furnace and I found that they were not so honest. It didn't even cost me much and they told me I needed a whole new furnace. I needed a new battery, that's what the problem was. I would tell my friend not to ever call them.

It was just an add-on to the furnace that I already had. So they didn't have to do any duct work or anything. They did a great job with that. They were nice, they were friendly and they took care of everything. I don't think they were honest, because the unit that they installed, I don't think it cools the house as efficiently as it should. The service guy who came and the person that I spoke with on the phone were very friendly and very professional. The unit that was installed however, doesn't cool the house as thoroughly as they said that it would. I guess the price was okay. They were pretty responsive and very respectful. When they were trying to get my business, they did good. When I needed them to hep, they were horrible. They were on time. I'm not going to ever use them again and I'm not going to recommend them to anyone.

Awesome! My tenants and I were all very pleased with the great work, professionalism, understanding and the air conditioning unit installed by the company! The family includes two small children with severe medical problems who really needed to have an efficient air conditioner especially with this extreme heat this summer. Ken Horbett, the owner, came out and assessed the replacement of the old air conditioner system. He fully explained what was to be done; we agreed to the terms and the new system was installed that same week!

I was little upset since they charged me for this because they had come out earlier to prepare the boiler for the winter months where they checked everything and I paid them in advance for this. Then, all of a sudden the carbon monoxide went off because the heat exchanger in my boiler went and this was because they could not tell me this problem four months back. They did fix the problem for me but I had to end up paying $ 800 for these repairs. If he had fixed it when he came out initially to check my boiler I would not have had to end up paying this amount. I had used them for years but I just never called them back after this. I cannot compare their pricing to others since I have not used anyone else.

We originally contacted Home Depot for an estimate to replace the furnace in our building. They contracted with Horbett Heating and Cooling in Buffalo, and we could not have been happier with the service.
They called and scheduled an appointment to see the property, were punctual in our meetings,and provided a quick, thorough estimate. The answered all of our questions about the price, service, equipment, etc.
They installed the new furnace as agreed, in the time agreed. There crew was efficient, and cleaned up after themselves each day. The new furnace seems to be perfect for your space.
We plan on hiring Horbett again in the future to install air conditioning.

he then wanted direct payment, though i was unhappy with his overview of the situation and also the bill. I was not informed that every additional 1/2 hour cost 50 dollars. I was put on the phone w/ the ?manager/owner who was very rude and condescending. I called someone else the following day and recieved satisfactory service

The owner came out and talked to me. I liked some of the suggestions that he gave me. I am very happy with the furnace. I was concerned about the size of the furnace filter so the owner told me he would get me 3 to start out with. It took several phone calls to get him to finally bring them out.

I feel that quality of work performed by Horbett is much better to those I've used in the past. Since switching to Horbett for my heating and air conditioning needs, I've used them several times as well as recommending them to my family and friends.

Horbett Heating had to level the unit as it was not working properly. Everything was handled quickly and efficiently. The air is now working.
