Bill Pappas did the home inspection and although he spent a few hours in the home he missed major issues. 1st he missed a water leak and damage in front closet. Repair cost $3500.00. He never checked A/C unit blower motor which was broken and non functioning.Repair cost $960.00. Broken garage window. Repair cost $45.00. Seized zone control on boiler. Repair cost $700.00, . Garage door rollers missing, damage to upper door section. Door Replacement cost $1890.00. Kitchen exhaust fan $400.00 repair. Bathroom exhaust fan seized. $200.00 repair. 
Inspector in the end did refund cost of inspection.

Mr Manzella is very knowledgable. He took pictures and posted them online, kept meticulous notes, explained everything in a very factual understandable way. I learned a great deal just be following him and asking questions. He is very professional, thorough and has a great system. I had my report at the end of the inspection and he emailed an electronic copy to my realtor. The report includes a large binder with full explanations and references. A real pro. I highly recommend his service and am so glad that I chose him to perform the inspection.

I had a home inspection done by Bill Pappas who works thru this company. He was knowledgable, professional and friendly. He explained everything and showed me all that I needed to see. The book he gave me to keep with all the details is invaluable and he emailed me all of the pictures which was a bonus. He made me feel I knew all I needed to know about the house I was looking to purchase.

I have been selling Real Estate for over 27 years. Doug has been doing inspections for me for over 18 years and I have to say he is the VERY BEST I have ever worked with! I have complete faith in him and trust him completely! If you are looking for an to have a home inspected you will not go wrong with Doug!

Inspector completely missed the fact that an open garage door was actually missing (only one panel remained at the top) and the other door was off the rails and immobile. Never sent me the photos of the inspection as promised. I would not hire this individual again.
UPDATE: Mr. Manzella discovered his error through a phone call from my realtor. He called me to apologize and sent me a check to cover a portion of the garage door replacement. Mr. Manzella, although he made a mistake, admitted such and made the proper gesture to rectify the error. He also sent photos as promised, albeit 3 months later.

My estate agent told me that I was so lucky that I booked a home inspection with HomePro because this is a company many buyers and sellers want. My colleagues who had had the service recommended me to contact HomePro first. But I kept calm and wanted to see with my eyes.
The inspector came on time and carried out the work for 3.5 hours. Although it was a visual check, he looked at both house and appliances thoroughly and carefully, from top roof, chimney to the supports of wood deck. He tested every window, appliance and sockets. With his expertise and experience, he can spot the safety issues and defects and potential defects. he revealed a safety issue on an outdated but working circuit breaker. He can tell you the current conditions of the house and how efficiently the appliances operate.
You can be well educated during the inspection. You can not only understand some issues, but also know options for resolution and cost. His professional advice also includes regular house maiteneance.
Then you will received a big binded book with the results of the inspection, explanation, information about house inspection and references. You really want to keep the book together with your house!

Manzella was competent and professional. He was also patient and not at all condescending. He could not inspect the roof because it was snow-covered at the time. He seemed to squeeze an extra fee out of me by coming back later to look at the roof. Still, I would recommend him overall.

Doug suspected extensive roof damage in the first property, found moisture content in the interior walls, and mold growth in an enclosed porch, all likely the result of a leaky roof. The exterior brick facade had also been neglected to the point that the masonry work above every exterior window had to be re-pointed. Doug showed us his areas of concern but wisely deferred to experts, highly encouraging us to seek experts for the roof and masonry work. I took his suggestion, and roof and mason experts also inspect the property. They confirmed Doug' suspicions and gave us a better picture of the full extent of the work. Doug was professional and thorough, he arrived on time and spent almost four hours inspecting the property. After each section of the inspection was completed, he went over his findings and explained them to make sure I understood the issues and what his recommendations were. I was not present for the second inspection conducted by Bill Pappis, but he gladly met my father and conducted himself with the same punctuality and professionalism as Doug previously had. Bill did stop by the property a few days before the inspection to drop off the Radon kit, so that the results were ready by the day of the inspection which was a pleasant surprise. The HomeBook turned out to be more valuable than I original expected. It's great to know you spent $400 and have the HomeBook as your home reference for now and in the future when repairs or upgrades have to be completed.
