Shield Security was the one who installed the system provided by ADT. I am visually impaired, and it was hard for me to see the message panel on the control board. They told me I didn’t have to see the panel. When we complained about this later several times, they just told us to get a flashlight both times.  My brother just had an alarm system installed by ADT, and he has a read-out on his panel, which I think would be very accommodating. I asked Shield Security if they could give me a panel like that, and the technician told me that they are not inter-changeable. They were not willing to work with me. They were responsive initially, but unresponsive to my needs.

"Being an Authorized Dealer with ADT, we have 2 types of keypads that we are able to offer to the customers. Our initial promotion is for FREE installation/FREE equipment. The standard keypad has just lights that give indication of the system configuration. The premium keypad offers a lighted window with LCD lighting to give a more descriptive system configuration. When I initially met with the members I showed the premium keypad that was to be installed. They seemed happy with the feature of a LCD lighted keypad. At that time it was never indicated that anyone in the home was visually impaired. What we would be able to offer is changing the LCD premium keypad for the standard keypad. Another option, is leaving the Premium keypad but installing a key fob, which is a handheld devise which will allow for the system to be turned on/off by a button. It has been explained that the ADT keypad that the other family member had installed in their home is not available to us as a Dealer of ADT. This other keypad is not something that would function with the other components of the member’s system. Furthermore, the ADT equipment that the other family member had installed would not be apart of a FREE install/equipment promotion. Shawn Cerrone, Direct Security"

I got a lot for my money. Very good work, called to let me know they were going to be late. Clean up was basic, but everything was great. Very polite and thorough. No charge for the installation. Everything is clean and neat. Highly recommended, make this your first choice.
