I dealt with Rich David from the start to obtain estimates for windows and roofing work. Rich was very professional and great to deal with and after getting several estimates and doing my homework on all the providers I decided to go with David's Exterior.
I am very pleased with the work that has been performed - Rich's crew did a great job and what I appreciate about the work is the attention to detail that was used in completing my job. E.g. - Rich's crew uses a more decorative window wrapping coil stock than anything I've seen out there, a nice touch for sure. Also, I pointed out some areas of concern I had with my siding along the roof line of the house and Rich offered cost effective ways to remedy these concerns and tie the work in with the roofing job while other contractors either couldn't suggest anything or offered very expensive remedies.
Rich and his crew have been at this a long time and it shows. So, if you're looking for a reliable crew that does a good job and pays attention to detail, give Rich a call.

I needed to have my roof replaced...if they had done it all at once, it would have cost me over $20,000 because it's a large Victorian house. I couldn't afford that amount, so they worked with me and replaced the roof in sections over the last 4 years. I was able to afford each section (they varied in cost depending on how much was replaced at a time.)
The foreman was wonderful and helpful...very professional. I live in the Elmwood Village, and needed to have some pictures taken of the roof, both before and after it was repaired, so that I could get a tax credit for being in a historical section of the city. The foreman was more than willing to be helpful. They cleaned the gutters free of charge.
When working on one section, the foreman told me that the roof was sagging and it needed to be supported from inside the house...so they actually came it and put supports in the attic area to stabilize it.
The roof is now supposed to last 30 years, so I am very pleased with their work. I would highly recommend them.

We live in Lovejoy, a relatively quiet, older neighborhood, where hardly anything happens... ever. So imagine our shock and horror when a couple homes on the street ---ours included -- were hit in a drive-by shooting. Not knowing who to call for fix-it help, we contacted Davids Exterior, a business we pass often on our way to work/school/church. We were VERY impressed. They were very understanding of the situation and were able to fit us in to plug up the holes in our siding quick and easy. I would really like to move now, and if/when that happens and I need exterior work, I will call them!

Contacting the owner, Robert Lee, and scheduling an estimate was easy. While I am not a roofer, I am familiar with the requirements of a tearoff and roof replacement, since I have done a couple myself .
Robert Lee is a personable, friendly guy who has plenty of hands on experience. We agreed on the scope of work and the price quickly. I had solicited four other estimates, and David's Exterior provided what I wanted, at a fair price.
The job was scheduled well in advance for the middle of October, weather permitting. Robert and his crew arrived on a timely basis, and went straight to work. He acted as a crew chief, and was actively working the job.
Roofing is hard, dangerous work. This roof had a steep pitch, and they took appropriate safety measures. His crew was always very polite and courteous. They seemed to get along well with each other. They worked steadily, even when the boss wasn't there. At the end of each day, they cleaned up the work site well. The whole crew was nothing but professional.
Given the daily threat of rain, they made sure the roof was appropriately buttoned up to prevent water damage before leaving.
I am impressed by their performance and would not hesitate to hire them again.

Repair was true to estimate, on time and nicely done. Very easy to deal with.

Richard Davis came to our home and gave us an estimate on 5 windows to be replaced. He was the leas expensive of the 5 other quotes we received, and seemed to know what he was talking about. One of the windows to be replaced was in our bathroom and out of all the other guys, Richard seemed to have the best way to remove and replace without us having to do any other demo or re doing of the bathroom. After long decision we went with him. He did not even come window installation,check in or call to see how it went in his absence. There was an older man and a couple of guys in their 20s, and it seemed like it was their first day on the job. They did an awful job installing the windows. Only 1 window looked good. The rest don't fit properly, had gaps, calf messes, unfinished trim work, nails sticking out, and broken trim. All but the 1 good looking window leak cold air, when we called Richard he said he would come out and look, he did and said that it was from the vent holes...NOT TRUE.. Alside had to send a new frame because the one that they put in was bent! Someone came out and had to replace the window and now it doesn't lock!!! Again Richard never followed up and has yet to fix our problem!NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! We are going to have to spend more money now to go with the company we should have selected to have them do the job right.

With all contractors you need to be very specific. I had a problem with one window, which was miscommunication on both our parts. Davids Exterior took care of the problem right away. They have very good integrity.

He did what he said he would do. The owner is very knowledgeable. I felt I could rely on what he said. He cleaned up after himself.

Davids Exterior Home Improvement is a very well-known company. They have been around here for years and are liked by all who use them. They do excellent work at a cheap price. I use them for all my remodeling needs.
