Description of Work: company reps made well over 20 calls soliciting my refinance. I asked twice before making appointment how this mortgage broker made its money. I was told the lending banks paid the commission. There was no added cost to me, the consumer. When I finally agreed to an appointment with the President, she vigorously tried to persuade me to see a financial adviser about investing extra capital I had on hand, which had nothing to do with the mortgage. Since I have considerable equity in my property, I did not need to refinance; rather, I wanted to take advantage of lower interest rates and gain some extra cash on hand. All the while, she repeated that it would be against banking law to advise me to invest the proceeds with a specific concern/individual. Then she began the spiel anew. She appeared more interested in getting me to invest w/ some particular investment counselor than attending to my specific requests. My impression at the time was either that she was trying to gain favor with this particular investment counselor or, worse, was involved in a conflict of interest.
