We decided to put s fence in because the deer were eating all our new plants and we got a new puppy. Now all our plants are eaten and we wasted thousands of dollars planning our new garden around our new fence. These people should be arrested! It's pure fraud!

The workers were wonderful. Our project was especially challenging and they solved many problems, worked long hours, and were communicative.
However, I was very disappointed with the lack of contact from the company. I was told that the installation would be in August. A change in the date for the work to begin was understandably created by the rainy weather. I do not mind waiting for work to begin, but I do mind not being contacted.
When I received a date, they did not show up nor did I receive a call. I had to call them. I was given another date - they did not show nor did I receive a call. I called them. This happened 2 more times. I called the salesman to express my dismay, and he never called back. I even spoke with the owner about this problem and received assurances that I would receive a phone call in a timely manner so that I could arrange to be home for the workers. That did not happen.
After the work began, the workers had to miss a day - again I was not contacted. I had to call the company. The workers did complete the installation of the red cedar fence around the perimeter of my back yard. It is lovely. I called to inform them of two boards that needed to be replaced (which they are very willing to do). The workers came but I was not called so they were not able to get into my house for electrical power and could not complete the repair.
I am still waiting for the repair and the rest of the project (an aluminum gate across my driveway) to be completed. Again, rainy days have made it difficult for scheduling too far in advance. However, I was called the night before they were to come and told I was the next project in line, and even though there was no rain the scheduled day or the next, no one showed and there was no phone call. It is now a week since they were to come - and still no word about when I might expect them.
I would not hire Classic Fence again because although the product, the work and the workers are excellent, the company is unable to be considerate of the home owner who works and has responsibilities outside of the home. The office staff is willing to be helpful, but apparently they do not receive the information they need in order to communicate adequately with the customers.

They were very good and quick about it. They cleaned up and they were in and out. They did it in 4 hours and it was custom-built too.

My complaint is communication. I had to keep calling the office to get an "idea" of when they'd be coming. When I finally was given a date, I took time off from work and they didn't show or call. I was told they were working on a "bigger job" and would be there the next weekday. They did come the next weekday but I certainly didn't take another day off to be home. Bottom line, since the time I gave my 50% deposit to the time fence was installed, I received zero and I mean zero phone calls from them. It was all me contacting them.. The fence however is wonderful and exactly what I wanted. Price was about on par with other places I checked with. If you are home often and during the day and not looking for an urgent job done, they'd be just fine.

Fred was impressive, respectful, and showed me what he would do, and the materials he would use. He and his employees worked in the snow, on Thanksgiving week, and the work is sturdy and beautiful.

It went very well. The staff's demeanor was wonderful. They originally put the wrong fence up and in two days it was taken down and put up. I didn't have to pay anything extra. I would use them in the future.

Although the work was completed some time ago, I am a new member to AngiesList and wanted to post a review.
In general, I have no complaints with the service. One individual came to our home to complete an estimate and sat to explain all the detials. He was kind and informative.The work was completed in, if I recall correctly, less than 5 days. It was a very rainy spring so they did have to reschedule the installation a few times due to the ground being too wet.
It has been over 7 years and our fence has held up nicely with the Buffalo weather. We *did* (and continue to) weather seal and stain it as recommended, so that helped as well.At the time, the price was acceptable, what you might expect to pay.
Overall, there wasn't anything completely exceptional about working with them, but nothing horrible either.

Customer service was terrible. We were calling 4-5 times a week with no call-back, and no answer to our questions. In order to get an installation date we had to drive to the office on a Saturday when we saw their cars in the parking lot, and literally beg for an installation date. The last day before installation, we called with several questions, and were told they knew what they were doing, not to worry. The installers were wonderful (they carefully moved a few plants for me) , EXCEPT for the fact that they had NO paperwork, NO survey (fortunately we kept a copy). The gate was placed in the wrong place - by the time we realized what they had done they had torn out posts and started to place the new one, so we let it go.

Timeliness and professionalism were fine. HOWEVER, PT lumber warped shortly after installation and gate was misaligned with latch mechanism, making closing the gate very difficult. Called the company on several occasions - each time they said someone would come out...yet nobody ever did. Terrible customer service-co doesn't stand behind their product!!!

I am very satisfied with my fence and with the work this company did for me. I think I paid a pretty decent price for the job they did. I would contact them again if I had any fencing needs. They gave me no problems and I thought they were pretty good to deal with.

We were not happy with the work done by Classic Fence. They did not finish the job and they did not return our phone calls. We would not recommend them to anyone. We did hire someone to finish the job.

Over all Classic Fence and Lumber did a good job. They need to replace a few boards that had warped, but very good about fixing the fence. I would recommend them.
