"Thank you for the kind words. Enjoy your new appliances!!"
We had a total kitchen remodel with a wall torn down. The contractor was alright with the gutting but any finished work was not done well. Every worker was fired - one by one, since the start of the job. He had his workers doing the finishing touches that were not necessarily good. Painting is sloppy, tile grouting was done badly, some of the carpentry work was shoddy.
There were times when because the job wasn't done well, Joe had to re-do things. For example the window trim painting was so bad that it had to be re-sanded and re-painted. Unfortunately while re-painting, drops of paint were all over the tile and grout on the new tiled floor. Some of the things that were done badly were not corrected and we had to hire people to do them, even thought it was a 50K+ kitchen remodel.
Artisan Kitchen: Once Brian did the floor plan, it was difficult to get things accomplished. I asked for original receipts of all appliances because warranties need them to honor the warranties. As often as I requested them, I was ignored until months later.
I asked for information about getting a warranty for the microwave, even though he promised, I never got that. The countertop measuring appointment was not ordered (Joe thought Brian did it - Brian though Joe did it).
I am very unhappy with this job and wish I would have checked with Angie's List before going to Artisan Kitchen and having homeimprovementbyjoe as my 'contractor'
The job that started November 4th 2014, is still not finished as the out side (from the new window) work is still not primed and painted. The two new doors that were ordered (as the are warped) are still not installed.
We would definitely work with Artisan Kitchens and Baths again. The quality of the service is topnotch.
We met several times to discuss and modify the plans.
We ordered our appliances and cabinets through Appliance Associates (= the retail arm of Artisan). Everything arrived on schedule. We ended up using M. Walkowiak Remodeling to perform the work (one of the several contractors we met with through Julie). He was very meticulous and conscientious in his work and discussed any issues when they arose and reviewed the results of each inspector's visit during and upon completion of the project. Michael and his crew also completed some additional renovations and lighting in our living area as part of the job.
The end result is an amazing transformation of a dated kitchen and living area. We had checked out some other kitchen renovators and are very glad that we selected Artisan Kitchens and Bath.
