We had problems with Artisan Kitchens. Our designer recommended frame-less cabinets and they were very difficult to install. Our designer strongly recommended Seneca Creek Contracting and they were an absolute nightmare (grade F). The communication was very poor between designer and customer, and also between designer and installer. Artisans' business model is poor: they have a team of installers that they recommend and that work closely with them. But, that is their downfall. They do not have control over their installations and the poor communication between designer with (customer, contractor) adds to the difficulties. Top management is very nice and responsive to customers, and ultimately this helped to make the project go through ... but, the project lasted 4 months.

We worked with a nice salesman, Jeff, and he was very helpful. We ended up buying Miele appliances as they have incredible ratings vs. Viking, Wolf, etc. Delivery was right on time, the delivering guys were very pleasant. Even though these are high-end appliances, I would purchase them again and Artisan is the only ones that carry them in all of Buffalo.

The contractor referred by Artisan Kitchens and Baths- Erik Riffel- "Artisan Tile & Stone" was a nightmare to deal with. The project took three times as long to complete, the contractor was extremely rude, the craftsmanship was very poor- the cold and hot were plumbed backward, the floor tile is not level and joints don't match up, the grout was never sealed which caused cracking a month later, the shower floor was improperly pitched allowing water to flow outside of the shower, and caulk and grout were left caked everywhere, it was a mess. In addition the contractor was rarely on time and sent subcontractors who he just hired. Never again.

We had a total kitchen remodel with a wall torn down. The contractor was alright with the gutting but any finished work was not done well. Every worker was fired - one by one, since the start of the job. He had his workers doing the finishing touches that were not necessarily good. Painting is sloppy, tile grouting was done badly, some of the carpentry work was shoddy.

There were times when because the job wasn't done well, Joe had to re-do things. For example the window trim painting was so bad that it had to be re-sanded and re-painted. Unfortunately while re-painting, drops of paint were all over the tile and grout on the new tiled floor. Some of the things that were done badly were not corrected and we had to hire people to do them, even thought it was a 50K+ kitchen remodel.

Artisan Kitchen:  Once Brian did the floor plan, it was difficult to get things accomplished.  I asked for original receipts of all appliances because warranties need them to honor the warranties. As often as I requested them, I was ignored until months later.

I asked for information about getting a warranty for the microwave, even though he promised, I never got that. The countertop measuring appointment was not ordered (Joe thought Brian did it - Brian though Joe did it).

I am very unhappy with this job and wish I would have checked with Angie's List before going to Artisan Kitchen and having homeimprovementbyjoe as my 'contractor'

The job that started November 4th 2014, is still not finished as the out side (from the new window) work is still not primed and painted. The two new doors that were ordered (as the are warped) are still not installed.

George and the rest of the crew at Artisan Kitchens was a lot of fun to work with from the very start. He was patient and willing, at every turn, to try a redesign or a slight revision or whatever else we threw at him. In the end, the look he gave us was exactly what we were looking for.
We would definitely work with Artisan Kitchens and Baths again. The quality of the service is topnotch.

They are good for specialty items; it is not like a bargain basement. You are going there for expensive stuff but it is quality material. They are quite good and have a good selection. The delivery was good; they are accommodating and have a great showroom. I will use them again in the future.

We worked with Julie as a designer and found her very professional and easy to work with. She was open to thinking outside of the box in order to work with us in creating a unique design concept that fits with the contemporary architecture of our home.
We met several times to discuss and modify the plans.
We ordered our appliances and cabinets through Appliance Associates (= the retail arm of Artisan). Everything arrived on schedule. We ended up using M. Walkowiak Remodeling to perform the work (one of the several contractors we met with through Julie). He was very meticulous and conscientious in his work and discussed any issues when they arose and reviewed the results of each inspector's visit during and upon completion of the project. Michael and his crew also completed some additional renovations and lighting in our living area as part of the job.

The end result is an amazing transformation of a dated kitchen and living area. We had checked out some other kitchen renovators and are very glad that we selected Artisan Kitchens and Bath.
