Catering Service
Firstly, on the positive side of things, the young people who work here at this Anderson's on Union in Cheektawaga always seem friendly, polite and courteous... they are apparently also protective of each other, which is admirable. However, last year I was forced to have to speak with management over and over due to delivered food order issues : / Coincidentally, I mostly spoke with a young female manager named Chandra. It was probably around 10-15 times total over the entire summer I needed to complain about improper food orders. The food was always purchased through Skip the Dishes, and the orders from this particular Anderson's consistently came completely wrong or done very poorly - food and ice cream. Coincidentally, again... This summer I've had new problems with this Anderson's having purchased two quarts ultimately being filled only approximately 2/3's of the way after they were packed down completely once they were delivered. (My order the day before was wrong as well as they sent me two pints instead of the quarts I paid for - the manager on site at the time said He had made the mistake, and refunded my money leaving me with two free pints). So I called to speak with a manager, as one would do, and it happened to be this girl named Chandra... who I didn't even remember at first. I explained about the quarts not being packed well, and she ultimately insisted she refund my money - even though I kept stating that I had gotten the two free pints the day before, and it made up for what I was missing in the partially empty quarts that day. She insisted on refunding my full amount of money spent, stating I should have gotten what I paid for, and remembering her at this point, I asked for a district mgr so as to provide her with good feedback to her superiors. She directed me to a "corporate" number, which turned out to be the number of the owner - a woman named Holly. This, in fact, was the FIRST and ONLY time I spoke with this Chandra person this season. I was so impressed with Her kindness, once again, I told her I would make an effort to come in to thank her in person some day soon due to her ongoing exceptional customer service : ) I did just that on this past June 5th, 2018, and asked for Chandra twice only because the card I went in with the first time that day did not work for some reason. It being my birthday, I had a gift card, and they told me their machines did not take gift cards for some reason... so I came back later with another credit card. I asked for this Chandra a second time thinking that she may have come in during the interim as a manager to do the closing of the store. They proceeded to reprimand me for making them uncomfortable for always asking for Chandra, which was just not true. This was my first, maybe second, time in this actual Anderson's ever in person. They told me they wanted me to take my business elsewhere, and when I asked what I had done wrong, they doubled down on my always asking for Chandra. I have never met this Chandra, nor have I ever seen her... and I happen to be a gay male on top of it all, of which I informed them to help reassure them I had no interest with this Chandra other than business related issues. Frankly, as I mentioned to them, if I have a wrong or problematic food order issue, and she happens to be the manager, it is her job to handle the problem. Additionally, if this young female "manager" can't field the complaints with regard to all the food order inconsistencies, then maybe she shouldn't be a manager. The owner, Holly, who was very diplomatic about the situational problem, then told me in a later phone call that I should be considerate of the fact that I am only taking them away from other orders or work they should be doing - I guess that means if my food order is wrong, or inaccurate in some fashion, I should just keep my mouth shut, and go away. This misunderstanding is really unfortunate... I was giving them good business on a consistent basis this season for the ice cream, at least, due to the food always being wrong or bad in some fashion. Now, apparently, I can't even complain about poorly packed ice cream pints and quarts, because they called the Cheektawaga Police on me filing a complaint that I was "making them feel uncomfortable" due to my always asking for Chandra : / Really!? The police needed to be called because of this??? They are just hyper-reactive kids with over-reactive imaginations. Poor things. I guess I wont be going back. I don't need to feel uncomfortable as a consumer, and I certainly don't want anyone else feeling uncomfortable around me regardless how insubstantial their imagined issues are regarding me. However, yes, I agree - the food is more often prepared in poor if not outright inaccurate fashion. No quality control of any kind - consistently! The employees seem to be too busy talking and joking back and forth to be paying appropriate attention to the job they should be doing at hand.
