A Handyman Dominic 716-428-9239, who advertises in The Buffalo News took $2,000 from my mother and didn't do any work. BUYER BEWARE of handyman in Buffalo News Classified. The West Seneca Police and Detective Gibbons know that this handyman is a scammer, fraud and steals from stores. Here are more details with emails through the Better Business Bureau: Complaint ID 15579044 Peter Gawel $2,000 Here is more information chronologically: Tuesday, June 8, 2021, my mother Lorraine Gawel and Dominic Camillo signed a contract to have siding on back of the house and agreed on a total price of $4,000. On June 8, my mother gave Mr. Camillo a check for $2,000 and work, per contract to begin on Thursday, June 10, 2021, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Wednesday, June 9, 2021, four boxes of white siding and one box of J Channel were dropped off to 77 Lexington Green. Thursday, June 10, 2021, work is supposed to begin per contract.......CRICKETS..... Finally, Jennifer called us at 12:30 PM, to let us know she had a doctors appointment and that they would start work at 9:00 AM Friday, June 11, 2021. Friday, June 11, 2021, work is supposed to begin, AGAIN......CRICKETS, AGAIN....... I called Mr. Camillo a number of times and no answer. I finally left a message and about 2:00 PM, Mr Camillo and Jennifer called me back, giving me this dog and pony show excuse about humidity and siding....The reason why they didn't show up today. You mean to tell me anywhere, USA, especially in Florida, where they have high humidity, workers are doing a bad thing because they are putting siding on when it is humid outside. In fact, on Friday there were contractors on my street putting siding on a house. I wanted the work done on Saturday, June 12, 2021, I was given a NO! I wanted Sunday, June 13, 2021, I was given a NO, because a church excuse. So, we agreed on Monday, June 14, 2021, 9:00 AM. Monday, June 14, 2021, Mr. Camillo, Jennifer and another gentleman show up to 77 Lexington Green. Mr Camillo was going to put siding on asbestos shingles, which you do not do. I told Mr Camillo I want a vapor barrier and/or backer board on top of the asbestos shingles, then put the shingles on over the vapor barrier and/or backer board. Mr Camillo told me to give him $300 more. I told him you already have $2,000 of our money and the contract is VOID and all he did was storm off in his vehicle with no mention of returning $2,000. Mr Camillo and I have had several phone conversations and this is SIMPLE! If Mr. Camillo is a professional, give us our $2,000 back and he can have his materials back. If a person is stupid enough to give Mr. Camillo $2,000 and no work is done. What do think is going to happen if this person is stupid again and gives Mr. Camillo his materials back. The police are going to confiscate the materials sooner or later because they know the materials are stolen. Return to us the $2,000 and you can have your $1,000 in materials.
