I would UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE use this company. Unprofesional and incompetent. We live in city of Buffalo in 100 year old home.We hired Adema Heating to replace a high efficiency boiler in Oct 2020., including a new hot water tank. The cost was approximately 13K. The boiler never worked properly resulting in many service calls over the next year that cost 100's of additional $$. The boiler finally failed completely Dec 21/Jan 22. First, a radiator pipe froze and burst in entry vestibule, causing only minor water damage in tiled vestibule and basement. We were out of town January when boiler failed again, and temperature inside house dropped below 40 degrees, resulting in additional pipes freezing. We had a housekeeper staying in house while we were away. Both she and we phoned Adema multiple times prior to pipes bursting, asking them to immediately assess and rectify the situation. We were told to "press reset" on boiler. Burst pipe in living room ceiling caused extensive damage and destroying antique piano. Damage assessed by Chubb insurance was over 24 K We had a master plumber consult the situation, after the pipes burst, along with an Adema representative and a rep from the boiler manufacturer, Dunkirk. It turned out that the boiler was installed "hung" improperly. The boiler had tried to restart inself electronically over 30K times. We hired the outside plumber to "rehang"/reinstall boiler and the too small water tank at cost of over 7K. The past week the mother board on boiler failed as a result of over 30K restarts, we just replaced part 500$ plus additional 1K labor. Both my husband and I have tried calling Adema multiple times over past year to speak with owner Kyle. OWNER REFUSES TO RETURN CALLS. Aside from 13K for initial installation, this has cost us approximately an additional 25K in out of pocket expenses, besides untold aggravation

Adema installed a new hot water heater in November, 2020 and it was broken in January, 2022, just 2 month after the warranty for the labor. I got a new bill of $386.06. I need to pay more than 1/3 of a new hot water heater. When they sold the hot water heater, they said that it was a great brand. I used my older water heater for more than 15 years without any problem. I feel like that they sold a low quality product. According to their invoice, what they did is to replace gas control valve. I google searched and found out that the average cost of labor for this job is $50 to $250 ([*** Link removed ***] They claimed that the part was free. I requested a proof but they have not sent one yet. Instead they charge me 1.5 to 8 times national average. Buffalo's cost of living is lower than national average.

They came and gave me an estimate quickly. My furnace had to be ordered and it was installed the day after it arrived in town. The installers were very nice, arrived on time and cleaned up all their debris.

The work was done very cleanly and professionally. The installers came on time and worked throughout the day to complete the installation. The placement of the condensor on the pad outside was done very well. The system is working as promised.

We are long time Adema customers. Here is why we will never use anyone else. We have owned our home for 26 years. Within two to three years of buying our home we called another heating company (I don’t recall the name) to service our boiler solely because their hours were more convenient than Adema. That other company told us we needed a new boiler. That would have cost us thousands at a time we really couldn’t afford it. We then called Adema for a second opinion. Our boiler did need repairs. Adema repaired it at the cost of about $350 to the best of my recollection. (It was definitely less than $500). We still have the same boiler today and since that time it has only needed routine inspections and servicing. Adema is honest, fair, capable and reliable. Most importantly Adema saved us thousands of dollars and has done the work necessary to keep our home safe and warm.

John did an excellent and thorough job of checking and cleaning the AC system. He turned on furnace to make sure it was working properly. He was very knowledgeable and willing to take time to explain what he was doing and to answer any questions.

Adema was prompt in giving an estimate at a better price over three other well qualified firms. Their quote was also the most detailed we received. They were able to offer many systems as were the other vendors, but we selected a high efficiency unit with special air filtration to cope with summer allergies as it gave us the option to continuously filter the air as needed.

Their communication was excellent and installation painless. The first scheduled visit to take measurements and determine materials was punctual and only required a half hour as they had advised. We were then given an installation date.
A crew of four installation mechanics arrived on time with the complete system and previously fabricated ductwork and immediately started work. The onsite removal and replacement took about seven and a half hours and passed the building inspector's detailed review without issue. The area was completely cleaned and trash and old equipment was removed from our site.
We were given a detailed explanation on how to operate the system (quite simple) and by 4PM the A/C had cooled our house.
The units operate quietly and our house now has even temperatures throughout. The filtration system has had an immediate positive effect on alleviating allergic symptoms.
We are very pleased with Adema and recommend them.

Due to selling of this house we needed a professional HVAC to make sure the furnace was up to code made this clear yet we got a salesman. Come to find out from a HVAC professional the work Adema suggested would not prove to be beneficial nor up to code. Still wondering why since Adema originally installed the furnace, why did they not put in the proper & up to code cold air returns in the first place.
Response from Adema Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.

"It is our understanding that we originally installed a furnace for Ms. [member name removed] father - [member name removed] who was a registered architect. At some point during his renovations the homeowner removed the return air duct system. After his passing Ms. [member name removed] listed the house for sale and a home inspector pointed out the missing return air duct system, we gave her a price to rebuild the return system and she agreed to it. After repeated calls to get in to perform the work she informed us that she no longer needed our services."

Our old furnace died on a cold winters night. We woke to an indoor temp in the 50s. We called Adema and they responded later in the morning. They found the problem and offered to fix for several hundred dollars. However, due to the age of the machine (19 years) we decided to replace it. They were able to get it working temporarily so we had heat until they acquired the model we chose. All in all, the process took only a few days. The installation was completed with a minimum of disturbance and the worksite was left spotless.

The bill included $89 "diagnostic charge" (the house call); $76 to check and purge unit; $70 for "leak repair" OK,they're plumbers so this wasn't a surprise. But the charges for parts is outrageous: a 1-1/4" copper male adapter; $24 (price at a neighborhood full-service hardware store: $8.49); 1-1/4" copper elbow, $24; hardware price $4.49; Watts 240F auto vent, $38; similar but not identical Watts vent at hardware,$12.99. This is out-and-out gouging! I intend to inform the BBB of my experience as well.
