RIP OFF!!!   We got scammed by James Vogel ("The Company").  After two months, when the job was still not done, we met with James and he asked us for more money to complete the job he had already agreed to.  We were so tired of living in a construction site we said ok and paid him.  They did some of the work, and then when he received his second to last payment (we had paid over $20,000 and there was only $1,500 remaining after that)  HE DISAPPEARED AND NEVER FINISHED THE JOB.  We had leaks, wires exposed, uneven floors, etc. and had to pay again to have a real contractor finish the job and are now suing him BEWARE OF THIS CONTRACTOR!!!

When I tried to find a contractor to do the repairs, The Company responded very quickly to my initial request. They ended up giving me one of the lowest estimates from the 5 I collected. James, the owner, was professional and knowledgable. His workmen worked hard, didn't waste time, kept the space as neat as could be expected, and really knew what they were doing. The work was completed in very close to the estimated time and at the estimated price.

In addition to the damage repair I had the rest of the condo repainted.

(I had another company do the hardwood floors and carpets.)

I am very happy with the work and would recommend The Company without reservation.

James Vogel is extremely easy to work with.  His workers have a wonderful work ethic.  They completed the work in about a week, including a Saturday, with most of the time being spent in prep, of which plenty was required.  There were a couple minor issues which were addressed immediately and with practically zero stress to me.  All my questions were answered almost immediately, and, most importantly,  I'm very happy with the results.  I would definitely recommend The Company.  One of the rooms had been unused for decades, and they truly transformed it. I would definitely use him again.

Jim and his team of 3 guys are excellent. I must have interviewed about 5 or more contractors for this job. Most of them I found through service magic (including Jim), angie's list and our condo's maintenance company. About half of them, including Jim, visited the condo to give a more accurate estimate.  Most of the contractors (including Jim) ended up in a similar range, except one that proposed $1,000 excluding paint. We decided not to take a risk with that one as we've heard horror stories with cheap contractors. Jim was very responsive both by e-mail and calls, and after he quoted me and I told him his proposal was higher than others, he worked on his price and we also made some adjustments (e.g. 1 coat to trims instead of 2) to get in this range, which was still above our budget but worth it in the end. The $1,900 includes primer, and excludes the paint, which he can get at a discount from Home Depot.  So we chose him, mostly because I got a good feeling that he seemed honest and high quality.
The best part is that his team somehow completed the project in less than 3 days on short notice, whereas everyone else was indicating 3 - 4 days. 
The paint job was done beautifully and was really worth it. At the end, they asked if we were happy and if wanted anything else done. We found a couple of minor things, which they handled without argument. We could have picked out a few more even more minor things, but we did not want to be obnoxious and I mean it was a really great job regardless.
The 3 painters that work with Jim reflect his general caring attitude. They seemed pretty experienced and worked efficiently. Jim will generally come in and out, supporting the team.  They seemed willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done to your satisfaction.
A quick side note, Jim apparently works for a few celebrities in NYC, but he never used that to sell us on his services in the beginning. He only told me later in the middle of the job to entertain me.
There was only one small issue that came up afterwards.  Somehow some small, light paint marks ended up on our balcony railing and the 2 floors below us. We told Jim and he sent someone ASAP to clean it off. There was no damage done and our neighbors were happy.
Overall, excellent experience, we are very happy with the outcome and we will use Jim's services in the future and recommend him to friends!
