I don't think contractors come any better than this one. Tom was professional throughout, meticulously explaining everything to us at every step of the way. You should hire this guy for his communication skills and customer service skills alone. Not only was he responsive to our texts and calls -- he himself was proactive and constantly in touch with us about the schedule and the work. And the quality of the work is great. You can tell when there is pride of craftsmanship. Tom does a lot of the work himself but when he needs to subcontract, the people he hires also seem to be serious craftsmen. Our final cost for the work was more than the estimate but you have to be naive to expect that when you embark on something like this that there aren't going to be a few surprises. Whenever one of those surprises cropped up (crumbling 100-year-old sewer line, for example), Tom informed us and laid out all the options for us. Definitely hire him! I know we will, again, when we need major work.

Great! I had had much lower estimates for cosmetic fixes but TDA pointed out the value of doing a thorough job. They knew how to save resources while still doing a quality job. All subcontractors were pleasant and competent and had long-term relationships with the contractor.

Tom arrived on time to review the job I needed done. He explained his plan for the repair and gave me estimate that I agreed on. Job was performed on the following Friday morning. Tom and his partner arrived on time, the job completed and all debris was removed and area was cleaned up. Tom was very professonal and I will use them again.

Tom Attanasio and his TDA Construction crew were simply fantastic in every way. Tom is meticulous in all he does from start to finish. All planing was thoughtfully prepared and presented. The renovation was exceptionally well done and with in the scheduled time. All done for a very reasonable and fair market price. Tom is an "Old School" Italian craftsman who takes his work with great seriousness and pride. We are soon to renovate our kitchen and will trust no other but TDA and Tom to do it!

While the job time estimate was 6-8 weeks, the completed job ended up taking over three months.  That is because this company is thorough and the owner has integrity.  As problems were uncovered, they were discussed in full and appropriate remedies were offered.  The job came in at about 10 per cent over budget, which had been discussed and planned in advance.  The extended time was a positive in that any other contractor might have fudged on the details and created a lesser job.  It was not to the contractor's advantage to have this work last so long but pride of workmanship won out over quick turnover.  I am grateful.
I am so pleased with this work and with the people who did it.  All subcontractors were courteous, superbly competent and trustworthy.  These people have worked for their companies for a long time and were quite skilled. The plumber and electrician were owners of their own companies and did not send inexperienced people to do the work.  I had experts designing, overseeing and executing the work.   The tile work was superb and Tom, the contractor, did all the framing himself. His buddy John is a talented all around expert who did amazingly perfect squaring off on sheetrock and framing.  Literally no corners were cut in this old basement that hasn't known a square corner ever. This is a working contractor, not someone who delegates to people he doesn't know and the quality of the work shows.  The detailing in the molding is far more than I ever expected and far more than I would have had from someone who was just going to put up four walls and a ceiling.  The finish carpentry is beyond my wildest expectations in both quality and extent of details.
All work was inspected frequently and there was never any error to correct.  This contractor maintains great relationships with his subs and it shows in the work they do.
 He is responsive to his customers' evaluations and to his own observations.  Prior to this job, TDA also did my roof, siding and kitchen gut reno.  I was not entirely pleased with the roof and the siding needed repair after a few years and some good wind storms.  However, Tom is no longer using those subcontractors because of the overall quality of THEIR work.  The kitchen, done eight years ago, is still my favorite room in the house (well, maybe now it is my second favorite) and it has shown no sign of exceptional wear.
.It is no accident that when Tom told me today that his plumber couldn't get here for another four days to finish up that I was relieved.  This means that I have four more days of no laundry at home but it also means that I can anticipate seeing these guys again and having the job done right
If you are rushed and don't mind substandard work, this may not be for you.  However, if you have waited a long time to get it done right, this cautious approach is the way to go.    You really do want a contractor who has the integrity and the interest that Tom possesses.
After $125,000 worth of work done in my house by this contractor, I can say I would have little doubt about asking TDA to do further improvements.
Highly recommended for homeowners with older or ailing houses.

We contacted several different contractors and comparison shopped for pricing and services.
We went with another contractor who does masonry work, but Tom's pricing to remove old roof layers, put down new insulation board and new rubber was comparable to contractor we hired.

I am extremely happy with TDA Construction services. The owner Tom and his entire team were incredibly polite, professional and extremely knowledgeable. During my search for a new contractor I performed an initial search on Angie’s list, Department of Consumer Affairs, and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I interviewed several contractors based on reviews and ratings from these sources. During my initial search I found TDA to be a BBB Accredited Business since 2007 and have an A+ rating with no consumer complaints. In my personal opinion, I put a high value on the BBB rating and on the fact that there are zero consumer complaints with the BBB. This information obtained during my initial search immediately told me that this contractor really cares about their reputation and tries extremely hard to keep an unblemished record. So I called TDA for an estimate and interview. During the initial interview it was immediately apparent to me that Tom was a very knowledgeable contractor with many years of experience and an outstanding personality.
 
During construction you could always count on Tom to return your phone calls and if you had a problem he would take care of it immediately. He also understood my vision very well and also came up with clever solutions and recommendations along the way. The quality of work was exceptional. The entire renovation was completed on time, on budget and most importantly it was done correctly.
 
As a Licensed professional engineer, I am in the construction business and work with contractors on a daily basis. Tom is definitely a step above the rest and you will not regret hiring him for your next construction project. I definitely intend on using TDA’s services again for my next renovation this spring.
