This is an update to my last review on 2/25/18.. I acquired Nick of Simpletwig in April 2018. My first check was dated 4/20/18. It is 12/29/18 and my plans has not been submitted to the DOB. This is to give you some insight on what to expect when working with Nick Buccalo. Now there are always many factors that play into the delay of plans such as a change of mind and need to update plans or payments, etc. However for my case the amount of time we spent deciding on the direction of the plans was standard. From my research and advice I’ve received from people who has gone through this process has advised me to expect an average of 4-5 months for the process of working with an Architect on plans. As you can see in this case I have not experienced the average amount of time with his company. Which has been both frustrating and discouraging. My previous review and the positive energy and assistance that I received from Nick was accurate however his ability to meet deadlines caused me to stand in regret with my decision. My review was made before the work started a tactic of his that works. He aske me to post a review before the work was started. I fell for it. I will update this again as I continue on this project. If you want a more detailed review feel free to email me at [email protected]. 2/26/2018 Previous review I'm currently working with Nick on planning a project to convert my single family home to a two family. We're still in the process but the process so far couldn't be any better. As nerve racking and intimidating as remodeling can be taking on a big project such as a conversion is daunting but Nick has definitely helped me to feel more confident with handling a project of this magnitude. First he has done more than most architects I've contacted to quote this project by just taking the time to thoroughly discuss the full aspect of what a project like this will need and how I can make sure I make the right decisions. Just for that I was confident in choosing him as the architect. He's simplified the process by referring necessary vendors in key steps in prepping for this project. Nick has really assured our budget takes precedence and make sure we don't go bankrupt working on this project and he has provided knowledge and education on the whole project raising my awareness. He has really taken time to make sure we are able to afford what we want instead of making the mistake of over promising only to find out we can't afford to do as planned. Looking forward with the next steps of the project. I highly recommend if your're looking for someone you can trust.
