Tamiz Ahamed, owner, seemed well informed at first meeting. He seemed to understand the job and its requirements of him. We checked the references he gave us and all seemed ok. His price was fine, if not a bit low. He was licensed and we wrote a contract detailing the job. It all went downhill once we gave him a check. With each check the work got worse. He claimed he was a roofer, however he did not know very much about roofing once he got on the job. I stopped him the second day as he had ordered his crew to tar down the blackboard that was on the roof. Blackboard is not a final roof material, but something people put down to walk on to protect the roof. I had to have them remove what they had locked down of the blackboard, and then search for another roofer. I found a great roofer by going through the Firestone website, the company that supplied the materials for the original roof. (On another review I will praise the work of RAZE contracting.) There were other problems with the other things on his work list. They had to redo the brickwork on the front of the building three times, because they could not make a straight line that was plumb to the ground. They argued with me about this to the point of ridiculousness. In one version of the corner of the building they actually corrected their off plumbness mid building, jogging over about 3 inches and starting again upwards! Again not plumb! I had to buy a plumb bob and hang it from the building to prove to them it was off. They argued and argued and finally fixed it on the third try. Their men left tools and mess everytime they left. We were robbed twice while their men were on the job. Coincidence? They left hanging platform on building over weekends and at night, and whined when I called to report that it was banging against the building in the wind on a friday night. His response was that he was in the middle of a party and I was being unreasonable. They never fixed all the cracks, and the cracks they did fix did not last more than a few weeks. They do know how to use silicone to fill cracks. and they used it everywhere. The wall that they were supposed to rain proof failed the testing he promised to do later. They sort of just stopped coming at a certain point, and never finished the work.
