Petroleum Take Cleaners LTD

The furnace was constantly kicking off in less than an hour. I would reset it and it would kick off again. I was making 8 to 10 trips a day up and down the stairs to keep it going. During this time frame the internal temperature of the house never reached the thermostat setting. My oil company, TDR, seviced the boiler many times during this period and recomended to contract with a sludge removal company. I checked Anges List but could not find anything. I then googled oil tank cleaners and came up with Petroleum Tank Cleaner Ltd. With a name in hand I went back to Angies List to check them out. I contacted Petroleum Tank Cleaners on Saturday and got an estimate of $450 from their office. They told me that I would hear from them on Monday. Sure enough, I got a call at 7am on Monday morning and a firm price of $500. I said ok and was told that a truck would be there early to mid afternoon. The truck arrived about 3pm and the workers proceded to deal with the nuances of this old house in a very polite and professional manner. Ordinarily they would access the tank from the side of the house that the tank located on. However, to do that they would have to go through a security window, causing damage to the window and in all likelyhood the frame. This would cause an additional unnecessary expense. Instead, they worked with me and agreed to go through the basement entrance on the other side of the house. This caused the use of additional hoses and connections. They performed this unusual request in a careful and professional manner. The job was done in a little over an hour. They did an excellent clean up job. I signed the agreement and paid the driver. They were gone by 4:30 pm. ** I strongly recomend that Angies List revisit its classifications. This company and service was listed on an innocuous title that had nothing to do with the problem I had or the service that the company provides. It literally cost me days of absurd searches and freezing nights with limited heat.
