We hired this contractor after getting a very positive report from a neighbor whose kitchen he remodeled beautifully. Except for showing up on time and finishing the job shortly after the expected end date, our experience with him was awful. During the demolition, a worker dropped a hammer on the floor that broke through our kitchen ceiling. Our light fixture was thrown out after we told the contractor we wanted to save money and reuse it. (He paid for a new one.) The plumber was rude, obnoxious, and needs a class in customer service. Although his fee was included in the contractor's price, the electrician was expensive and installed the light fixture with the copper ground wires visibly sticking out. The tile installers didn't secure the glass accent tile properly to the wall and misaligned individual pieces as they grouted them in place. One of the rectangular wall tiles cracked during the installation and they grouted it in place instead of replacing it with a whole tile. No one admitted to these problems until we discovered them; the contractor had nothing more to say than that his tile guys usually do a great job. He made no offer to fix the crooked tiles. The contractor didn't properly support the acrylic tub with a base of cement and vermiculite. The tub felt spongy and its weight has already pulled on and broken the grout where the tile meets the tub and walls, and around the tub and window. (My husband has had to break open the kitchen ceiling to shore up the tub from the underside and will have to regrout all the perimeter work.) Grout was incorrectly applied where the tub meets tile; it should have been caulked. The contractor couldn't figure out how to install the triple glass shower doors until his helper insisted that he stop and read the enclosed directions. The silicone seal under the doors leaked from Day 1 despite a second application. When I pointed out that the towel bars were loose, he blamed that on cheap and shoddy workmanship by the manufacturer, when, in fact, he neglected to install the included screws as per the instructions. He had thrown them away after assuming that they were extra and unnecessary parts. The sheetrocking and taping was done well but the contractor damaged his employee's work by installing the medicine cabinet in the wrong place. He misaligned the wall opening to install the medicine cabinet over my husband's handmade vanity (which he also accidentally damaged). When I saw that the medicine cabinet was not hanging evenly over the vanity, the contractor claimed that the position of the drainpipe didn't allow him to align the vanity correctly under the medicine cabinet. If we hadn't insisted that this was unacceptable, he wouldn't have reopened the wall and made the neccessary changes. He would've painted only one coat of paint if he didn't have to cover the repair work. I've already repainted the moldings and the door as the single coat was done poorly. The floor tiles could have been installed more evenly. The plumber was verbally abusive to my husband because we didn't have the necessary hardware on hand to complete the shower installation. After this problem was resolved, he installed the handles of the sink faucet set backwards. The only part of this renovation that went smoothly was the installation of the toilet. We were so disgusted with the workmanship that we paid this contractor just to get rid of him; we told him not to install the towel bars and other accessories. To compensate us, he accepted $200 less than the contracted fee. We should have pushed for more as he caused more problems than he solved. In short, DON'T HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! We regret that we did.
