I had a great overall experience with Tony. He was punctual, clean, professional and extremely knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend him to others.

Tony's a great guy and a pleasure to work with. He came over and gave a free estimate when he was in the neighborhood. (He lives on SI but does work all over Brooklyn.) He said that our list would take 2 or 3 days to get through, depending on what he found in the walls. He came over last week, plowed through a whole bunch of stuff, and arranged to come back again this week to try to finish up.
He's a really good communicator and really likes helping people understand what's going on. Whatever you want to do, he's pretty happy to help, and he'll talk to you about your options as he learns more about your home. Since I was around, for each part of the job, he pulled me over to explain what he was doing or what he had done, so I learned a lot.
Our house is in OK shape but whoever did most of the electrical "upgrades" was a total chump (or, more likely, a series of chumps). Tony kept finding major safety issues that had to be addressed. A key one was the 220V line, which we hadn't realized was so unsound. (The wires were coming out of the pipe near the floor, which—especially b/c it's 220V—is a very big hazard.) Another was the way many of the ceiling lights were installed.
He made each of these items safe and functional, on budget, and way faster than I expected—despite the big problems he kept finding. For instance, he didn't expect to need to re-run a wire across the length of the house, but there was an outlet on the ground floor that had been wired off of the light in the downstairs bathroom (!!!), which itself had not been wired properly. He couldn't find the electrical boxes to get the wires to make it work safely and properly (we could've started knocking holes in the ceiling; not the preferred option, obviously). Instead, he was able to install a new junction box, snake the wire across the ceiling, through several turns, and do it all with minimal damage to the aesthetics. He took far greater care with our drywall than I would have!
Every part of the job was done very well, done efficiently, and explained thoroughly. The next time we need electrical work, we'll definitely call Tony again. I even think he'd be a great choice if (unlike us) you needed work done in a really high-end home. But for this price, we were super glad to have his help with our little fixer-upper.

Tony came across as no-nonsense from the onset. He is detailed oriented and takes his work seriously. He demonstrated these qualities as he assessed the jobs I presented while making minor adjustments to minimize electrical issues. He is conscientious, professional, courteous and honest. He fixed everything before the deadline and then offered to return if I had any problems. His friendly disposition throughout was the fringe benefit!

I spent several thousand dollars. He is a meticulous and he is very tidy. He makes as small hole in the wall as possible and he checks everything. Other contractors working with his as a team think that he is the best.

It is a one man outfit. He is a meticulous workman; I have never encountered an electrician as careful. He syncs it all through because these old houses are not easy. The prices were reasonable. The one small drawback is that he is overcommitted. He comes when he says he will come, but he may not be able to schedule you right away. It's not like he says he will come and he doesn't. It may take a while.

The experience could hardly have gone better. The only setback was that Tony had to push the appointment from 4/2 to 4/5, but he was very apologetic and arrived on time on 4/5. Tony explained what he was doing, the wiring problems he was encountering, and his solutions at every single step. He was extremely friendly and did an excellent job at every step. I was never in the dark as to what was going on, and he tested his work multiple times to ensure that he left everything he touched in as good or better state than the way he found it. He fixed my immediate problem and also let me know that my wiring would need further work to be in truly good condition. I also felt that his price was very reasonable- he charged hourly but wasted no time and got everything done in a timely manner. I would definitely call him first in the future and will recommend him to my landlord to complete the wiring upgrades he proposed to me. I would give him an A+ in quality and professionalism if I could.

It was an excellent experience. Having had a bad experience with another electrician, I found myself pleasantly surprised by Mr. Gerbinos work ethic.
