Roy fixed two lamps. One needed rewiring and the other the switch did not work. He did a great job. He was professional in every way. I would definitely use him again.

Overall a delightful experience. I felt a small business huge welcome upon arrival. Recommend highly!

Small shop but seem knowledgeable. Very friendly. Expensive. Only cash. I was surprisingly disappointed, since they were not attentive to details. Chandelier was not assembled properly. New wires in sconces were visible, (they should have followed the old wires). Unfortunately it is too far and did not have the time to take it back.

This was a great experience. I walked in to the store on a Saturday afternoon and walked out an hour later with both my lamps fixed. I had and quot;googledand quot; and quot;lamp repair brooklynand quot; and got the Lamp Doctor. What a find. I'll be sure to tell others - I love finding places that believe that old things can be fixed. I'm giving them a and quot;Band quot; grade on professionalism because this place - and the guys who work there -- are not and quot;professionalsand quot; per se but artists. Visiting Lamp Doctor is an experience -- you'll walk out happy with fixed lamps and expanded knowledge of the many kinds of lamps that exist in this world.

It wasn't a simple job, since to do so in this particular lamp, it had to be completely taken apart. Even then the wiring was tricky because it needed to pass through a bent narrow tube. The job was done in front of us by a very pleasant gentleman. The brass had been split in one area, and without adding to the price, this was fixed, as well. I was very pleased and would definitely use this service again.

I think that the lamp shade was more expensive than the repair. We like them. There are not that many places that we can take lamps to be repaired, that's why we go there. They have been around for a really long time. In fact, I have been going to them periodically; it has to be at least 30 years. They tend to be a little pricey. She quoted me a price for the lampshade and it was a little weird, it was like $105 or something, and she just made it $100. She said that it would be ready in a week, and it was ready in a week.

This place is great. I brought my lamp in, dropped it off, and they fixed it within an hour - ready for pick-up. The lamp works like new again. THey knew exactly what to do.

Carol was great to work with! She had us email a picture of the lamp and discussed the issues. When we brought it in, they fixed it while we waited. We are very pleased with the result. High marks for professionalism!

Carol couldn't have been nicer, and showed a understanding of the history of the lamp being repaired. The new floor lamp only needed an adjustment and they didn't charge me for the work. They didn't have the part needed for the old lamp, so I left it; they also rewired it. I believe it cost about $35.00. When I came back to pick it up, I brought a second old lamp that needed to be fitted to a different base. Carol wasn't there that day, but the man who helped me was also courteous and skilled at getting the parts to fit together. He also spent time with us trying to select a shade for the lamp, but ultimately I didn't find one that I felt suited the proportions of this lamp. It was a pleasure doing business with a company that can think creatively. Since parking can be difficult in the area, they have a considerate pick-up/drop-off option--call from your car and pick-up the lamp; they'll diagnose the problem while you wait in your car. But do try to go in--They have a wonderful selection of chandeliers and sconces that are put together from old parts and curios that are worth a trip in itself to have a look.

I was unable to be at home so they agreed to pick the lamps up and take them to the shop. I was called the next day with a quote. The lamps were returned within a week at the stated price. They looked better than new and the new switches that they suggested are easier to use. I was especially pleased in the choice of the new switches-they were stylish and the brass matched exactly. Everyone was extremely nice and very professional and kept in touch while the work was progressing.

Price was fair. They did not have parts tha I had to buy from another company. I had to come back to the store 2 time because order was not completed at specified time. Otherwise not bad at all.
