"We never started this job and here is why: This would be customer called us that we came highly recommended from Angie's List with great reviews. Someone had already started her kitchen remodel and the unfinished work was in disarray. I could see that the plumbing needed to be changed and the electrical work was substandard with outlets at wrong locations and wrong heights. She insisted that we measure, design and estimate her kitchen remodel the same day (Saturday 11/14/15) and visited our showroom that afternoon showing up more than an hour early, we stayed 3 hours after our closing time and rushed the design for a high end kitchen that she selected and gave her an itemized estimate for it. She informed us that her budget was way under the estimate. We offered her a less expensive imported cabinet line and after removing a few non-essential items from her wish list came to an agreement and received an initial deposit of $1,800. Soon after we started getting multiple abrupt and demanding phone calls from this person implying that we were not moving fast enough. By Tuesday 11/16/15 we had the insurance, Licenses, certificates and other necessary documents sent to her (she insisted to deliver the documents personally to the coop board and the building manager). After this we emailed her the contract documents to review so we could sign the day after. She informed us that she works in the court system and that she had to have her lawyer review the contract. I received a call a few days later that her lawyer had no problem with the contract and if I could stop by the same evening we could sign. When I arrived at her building past 7:00 PM there was no answer to my repeated phone calls and the doorman's attempt to contact her was left unanswered. We did not see her until Saturday 11/28/15 when she came to our showroom for signing the contract (showing up 2 hours late for her appointment). At this time she was very abrupt, demanding and started asking for some of the items taken off from the wish list because of limited budget. Among other things Mrs. [Member Name Removed] claimed that we had promised to give her the high end cabinets that she had initially selected, which was considerably over her budget, for the same discounted price of the imports. Unfortunately this was turning to butting heads and very unpleasant. That is not the way we do business, we take pride in partnership with our clients to deliver the best results. Since we were still in negotiation we decided not to take this job and gave back this person's deposit and wished her well."
a hands-on approach. He personally manages his crew. Reputation is important to him and he will make sure all work is done
both correct and to your satisfaction. They cleaned up after themselves everyday. They worked several Saturdays, and even one Sunday in order to complete the project close to schedule.
INGENUITY ? After opening our wall, Gordon?s team found out that our home had some pre-existing plumbing problems.
His plumbing team met the challenge by creatively re-routing our existing plumbing so that we would finally have our kitchen sink where we needed it.
COMMUNICATION ? There were no financial surprises. His contract and payment schedule were clearly outlined.
Any additional costs (we added things) that occurred along the way, were clearly communicated first and then put in writing.
He always answered our calls. And is always so very pleasant. And he call YOU when he needs. We would often text him
pictures on things in the house if we had a concern, question or idea. He responds promptly.
CREATIVITY ? Gordon really has a ?HGTV? eye. He suggested some beautiful design ideas. One of his standout ideas was
our custom-built pull out, double spice rack (a huge surprise that has awed our guests). He also custom built us a new
pantry front/door to match our new cabinets.
RESULTS - We have a beautiful, functional, professionally done kitchen! We will calling Kitchen and Closets to remodel our bathroom next year!
We're always on time and were neat and clean
"As business owners that take pride in quality service we provide our small and large customers it was very unpleasant to get a negative review for a $49 Promotional design sale. Here are some facts: • I traveled to customer’s residence, measured and did the initial interview and consultation as per our promotion. • 2 designers spent considerable time working on different options of functional designs for this kitchen. • Upon completion we asked the customer to make an appointment at her convenience so we can present her with our interactive design presentation (as per coupon: final consultation at our showroom). This is an opportunity to make changes needed, for our customers to see choice products and completed versions of similar projects. • After the last phone call and customer declining to travel 12 miles to our showroom, we sent a check for $49 that she had paid Angie’s List (not our company) for the coupon. Extending her additional courtesy we also sent her an email with several snap shots of the designs for her kitchen. We serve our customers with integrity."
The work crew was very professional. Arrived early and left by 5pm. At the end of each day they left the work area clean and removed all the construction debris. We reviewed the work progress daily and discussed changes if needed. The job took about 2 weeks to complete. We have used them in the past with our basement bathroom renovation as well as our kitchen/living room open concept renovation and we love them. Great prices and quality workmanship.
