The company owner, Carl, arrived on time with one assistant. For work in Manhattan, the owner asks for $75), to come to your home and provide an estimate of the job. This fee is applied to the cost of the job if you decide to go ahead. I had three other firms come and give free estimates. But they gave different proposals as to how to solve the smoke problem, all of which involved additional expensive work beyond the basic clean-out. Onr firm’s proposed “fix” involved a new stainless steel lining for the flue at a cost of $4,500, plus $1,200 minimum just for cleaning the second chimney. In the end, based on the ratings on Angie's List and talking with the owner of Jand B, I decided to have him come and provide an estimate. He proposed doing the basic flue clean-outs (for a very reasonable fee), and if that didn’t solve the problem, we could then decide on further measures, which seemed to me the sensible way to approach the job. (If you decide to use him, he will often stay and do the job immediately if convenient, which is what he did in my case.) They did a thorough job and were careful to keep the area surrounding the fireplace clean as they worked. They cleared out a considerable build-up of creosote which was contributing to the back-up, and re-set one of the dampers which was lying at an angle and further blocking the flue. We have used the fireplaces several times since the work was done, and they are now working well, with no smoke back-up. I would definitely use Jand B Chimney and Boiler Repair again, and would recommend them.

He was on time, very efficient and fast. His only downfall is his extremely thick Caribbean accent, which makes it kinda hard to understand him.

He arrived on time but due to parking problems did not start the job for another 3 hours. The job was more difficult than had been anticipated. He had no helper and without my assistance the job would not have been able to be completed. While he had several sizes of flu pipe, he did not have the size needed. This resulted in delay and additional cost. Most of the clean-up and and all of the debris removal was left to me. Having said all this, the job, when finished, was done in a professional manner.

He was good and on time. They did a good job. He was the only one that would come right away, which was very nice as well. He did everything that we asked and we were pleased overall with the service.

It was fine, fast and painless. The only thing was is that they were they were a little bit late.

I AM PLEASED WITH Jand B BECAUSE IT WAS FINISHED IN A TIMELY FASHION. MY CHIMNEY IS WORKING BETTER SINCE IT WAS CLEANED AND THERE WAS NO ASHES OR SOOT LEFT BEHIND.

THIS COMPANY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. THEY WERE VERY PROMPT AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY CLEANED UP THEIR MESS SO WELL YOU COULDN'T EVEN TELL THERE WAS WORK DONE.

THE SERVICE WAS GOOD. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND DID A GREAT JOB ON THE CHIMNEY. THE GUYS WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND VERY EFFICIENT. THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE HIGH BUT MY CHIMNEY LOOKS FABULOUS.
