After the initial visit to view the project, Cynthia returned in good time with a guesstimated budget and some sample pictures of furniture, cloth samples and paint color samples. All were accepted. We then went shopping for the crown molding and some furniture at various stores and on various days at mutual convenience. She also gave me a number of online stores and furniture samples from which to buy which was done satisfactorily including a number of furniture pieces and light fixtures. She referred a painter and crown molding installer whose work was satisfactory but not done in a coordinated and smooth-running manner. Cynthia also referred a furniture assembler and a carpet installer whose work was satisfactory, but somewhat expensive. Although basically the job is finished, she is still attending to little things that need attention.

"I AGREE WITH THE MEMBER, SHE GOT EXACTLY WHAT SHE PAID FOR: PROFESSIONAL, WELL EXECUTED INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICES PERFORMED WITHIN THE ALLOTED TIME FRAME AND UNDER BUDGET. EVEN THOUGH THE PROJECT BUDGET WAS UNDER WHAT WE USUALLY ACCEPT, SINCE OUR PERSONALITIES MESHED SO WELL DURING OUR INITIAL CONSULTATIONS, I WANTED TO WORK WITH HER ON HER RESIDENCE. DUE TO WHAT SHE WANTED TO ACHIEVE WITHIN HER BUDGET GUIDELINES, A LOT OF THE FURNITURE WAS SHIPPED FLAT AND NEEDED TO BE ASSEMBLED ON SITE BUT FOR LESS THAN THE STATED $ 75.00 PER HOUR. SINCE SHE HAD NOT RE-DESIGNED HER RESIDENCE FOR A FEW DECADES, CURRENT PRICING FOR FURNITURE, ACCESSORIES AND LABOR DID COME AS A SLIGHT SHOCK BUT WE STILL MANAGED TO REMAIN UNDER HER BUDGET. MY CONTRACTORS AND SUB-CONTRACTORS COMPLETED THE SPECIFIED WORK WITHIN THE AGREED UPON SCHEDULE IN A CONSISTENT,DAILY MANNER, IN ADDITION TO DOING ADDITIONAL WORK NOT INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS. IT WAS OUR PLEASURE HELPING THE MEMBER TO ACHIEVE THE TYPE OF RESIDENCE, IN DESIGN AND SPIRIT, AS DISCUSSED DURING OUR INITIAL MEETING."

I'm a pretty savvy consumer which was part of my issue. I find it hard to make decisions because there are too many choices out there. Cynthia started out with a consultation where we went over what I wanted to do, what style I was going for and, most importantly, my budget. At the conclusion of the consultation we selected a color palette, she drew up floor plans, and gave me a contract. She was flexible in her contract options and very fair with her price. We divided the project into 2 phases so it was easier to handle. We selected paint colors and painters, new furniture, rugs and lighting for the bedroom and nursery, repositioned existing furniture, changed fixtures/counters in kitchen and bathroom and got rid of clutter. What I like most about Cynthia is that she's very patient and never says no. She takes all my thoughts and suggestions into consideration and gives me options to make informed decisions. I'm now starting phase 2.
