"Thank you [Member Name Removed] its a pleasure to do business with you."
I felt two of the four companies were of very high quality, so I went with the roofers who seemed most fair with regards to the assessment of the problem and the pricing out of the solution.
James from Fix-a-Roof (by United International Construction) told me what the real problem was and (more importantly) told me what DIDN'T NEED to be be done. He told me exactly how he inspected the roof, the skylight and the adjacent wall. He was very firm that the skylight and roof were sealed very well and that it would be a waste of my money to pay someone to "fix" them. James told me plainly but confidently that he would fix the problem and provide a 5-year-warranty and 100% guarantee.
Although his schedule was packed, he made time to do the job, and he did it very well. I've waited a couple of months before writing this review because I wanted to make sure the roof held up and we didn't experience any leaks. And after several days of high winds and heavy rain, I can confidently say that his work was of the highest quality. Remember, this was not our first attempt to fix the problem, nor was it our most expensive, but it's been the only effective job we've had.
As I mentioned, James is a very straight forward, blue collar guy (and that's a complement) who takes pride in his work. He's very conscientious and polite. I thought he was very solid all around.
As I mentioned above, frequently lower prices means lesser service. I am glad to say that in this case, it couldnt be farther from the truth. I am glad I chose them, and would not hesitate to recommend them to others or use them again in the future.
Thanks James
"If you going do a report the least you can do is be honest! And not outright lie to try and maliciously hurt a person’s business and take food out of their children’s mouth, but I guess that’s how you do things to live in your so called 2 million dollar property that’s about 900k short of what it’s really worth. Okay now let’s say what really happened. I was called to assess several leaks on a roof that has past its life expectancy. I told the customer that the roof should be replaced immediately, he replied I have a friend that is a roofer and he said the same thing but I want to try and repair it( to be frugal of course). I told the customer that there are a lot of places it could be coming from and that it and there are allot of places that have to be flashed and it would be $700.00 he replied can you do better after talking to the guy and him taking my kindness for weaknesses, he convinced to do the job for $300.00. He replied: I am not paying anymore that. I did not want to make a waist of a call and the guy seamed really nice, but I see now that clearly was all an act. I left for home depot because I ran out of flashing, after finding more and more openings. I returned back to the customer’s house one hour later and it became too dark to continue the work so he told me don’t worry you can leave your ladder here over night, it’s ok ( to insure that I return of course). (He claims I didn’t return from home depot) there were two men closing up his pool that were not there when I left. The following day I was on my way to the job with an additional worker I might add, which I also had to pay for, but I am a man of my word and always finish what I started, the customer calls me, I tell him I am on my way. We arrived at this man’s house 10 minutes later and continued the job as promised. The worker and I used a whole can of flashing that I purchased at Home Depot the night before and the other half that I had originally brought with me. After the job was done I told the customer it shouldn’t leak but it just might because the poor condition of roof. The customer then hands me $300.00 (not $350.00) like he stats the and like a big shot gives me an additional $20.00 for my worker he replied: I know you guys worked hard and deserve a little more. He calls me back after the first rain and tells me that I got two of the three leaks that he had and when am I coming back to fix the other leak. My truck broke down and was in the process of getting a new vehicle. I originally told him I would come back if it leaks. (Which I should have not did) It took a little longer for me to get my new vehicle on the road. He then started threatening me. Quote: If you don’t come back, I will ruin your reputation on Angie’s list. When I called him back to come back he told me to never call this number again quote: I will press criminal charges against you if you do. (For what? for being taken advantage of and going above and beyond?). Clearly I went above and beyond for 300.00 and clearly I was the one taken advantage of in this situation. The only thing accurate in this man’s report is that I was at his house! This man is in desperate need of a Psychiatric assessment immediately due to fact that he is unstable and unpredictable! Clearly he is pathological liar and needs help. I wish him all the best, after all it’s not his fault. P.S. by the way the person's wife I suppose was not even present at the time nor did I ever meet her. As you can see from the report not only do they have a language barrier but a problem with communicating as well."
"Thank you for taking the time out to write a review for our roofing company. It was a pleasure to work for you and I am glad you are happy with your new roof."
"THANK YOU VERY MUCH. IT WAS MY PLEASURE TO SERVE YOU."
"THANK YOU"
