I called several plumbers the day prior and Downtown Plumbing was the only one that returned my call within an hour. Never heard back from the others. Maybe the job was not big enough. No Estimate  Fee.  We agreed to a price and scheduled a time to complete the  job.  The plumber arrived on time, was professional, explained everything and the bill was fully itemized. I plan to use them again in the fall to service our furnance.

It went well once the pipe was purchased by Downtown Plumbing to replace leaking pipe. The replacement pipe was not on the truck. It took quite some time for the technician to find the pipe and return with the pipe replacement.

The service went very well, they were very informative. He did a beautiful job.

It was the most horrible experience I've ever had. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

We have a semi-finished cellar in our brownstone building, for a small bathroom and the laundry. This all drains well below the sewer outflow to the street, so we have a 41 gallon macerating ejector pump that sits in a pit and collects stuff and (ideally) pumps it out. We'd been noticing a persistent odor for a while, and finally traced it to the ejector pump pit. Some of the providers on this list that I also recognized from our local neighborhood email list couldn't make it out today, but these guys were recommended by our local list and were able to come out, so I decided to take a chance on them. Despite the really intense smell, I stuck it out with the guys, and they completely took apart the pump tank assembly, removed the pump and pulled what appeared to be a rag mop head (!?) out of the inlet to the pump. They had to pump out the pit as well, which was filled with sewage. (Yum!) I had agreed in advance to pay a $150 diagnostic charge, to be rolled into the final cost -- what I wasn't expecting was to only pay $150 total for the amount of (really disgusting) work that went into this repair. Best $150 we've spent this year. Will have these guys at the top of the list for future issues. A great job.
