Rudolph and I have worked on several projects over the years. First in my co-op and in my current home. He is my go-to carpenter and all around handyman. He is respectful, detailed and passionate about carpentry. He has built me a pergola within 2 days and our most recent project is a built-in cabinet running the length of one wall in the dining room with floating shelves. Rudy as I affectionately call him was tasked with making 2 small doors from scratch to match a factory made cabinet. He matched the doors nicely. Very proud of the final results. Let's see what we build next year.

After starting a bathroom remodel with a contractor with limited skills, I knew I was in trouble. An internet search for a carpenter near me resulted in a 7:30am meeting with Rudolph. He showed up and quickly turned my failing project around. Rudolph had the skill and creativity I was looking for. He helped me to achieve my vision. I was so pleased with his excellent work and fair pricing, I expanded the project to include several needed upgrades and a beautiful staircase crafted by Rudolph! I highly recommend Rudolph and his crew of gentlemen!

RUDOLPH CAME TO MY RESCUE. HE WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE. SKILLED. GENUINE. AND SO SO KIND. I can’t only call Rudolph a master carpenter, because for me, he was more of a SUPERHERO. We were moving a VERY large and VERY beautiful and VERY expensive wardrobe into a Brooklyn condo. By the time we got it down the steps, it wouldn’t fit through the door (whoops). We were STUCK. A 250lb wardrobe that wasn’t going back up and we were blocking the doorway. The only option was CUTTING OFF THE LEGS. Gasp. By some some stroke of EXTREME good fortune, I found Rudolph on google. REASONS RUDOLPH IS A REAL LIFE SUPERHERO: - He dropped everything and came to the rescue. No questions asked. A genuinely good person that wanted to help. - He has great powers of of is CRAFT & KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE. He refused to cut off the legs of the wardrobe and destroy the piece. He went in from the inside to unscrew them. He just came in. Took control. And fixed the problem. - He went ABOVE & BEYOND. He didn’t just stop at the job at hand. He helped us move the beast all the way in (since the movers left). Then he offered to craft us removable base that will better support the wardrobe so we can move with it next time and hopefully keep it forever. We should have just got him to build it in the first place! It’s extremely hard to find people like this these days. People that are genuine. People that are kind. And people that actually care to help you in your time of need. With him it wasn’t just about making money. It was about so much more. Hire Rudolph, and be one of the lucky ones like me.

He had two other guys that worked with him one named Sterling (painter) and the other named Joe (flooring). They stole jewelry, hats, shoes, and other items as well which included lipstick. They cost $40.00 a piece and I had at least 15 lipsticks. He had me sign a contract for the work for the flooring and I thought it was OK and I signed the contract. He did not do the best job because he was supposed to add molding and he left that out. I went away for a week and I noticed that items were missing. There were keys missing from my key rings. He is a fraud. There is nothing in his name and he is a thief. I went to the store to get them some water and one of the workers went into the bathroom and stole items. I even hid jewelry and they found it and stole it. He left my terrace a mess and damaged other items. He is horrible and a liar. I will definitely not use them again. I had no business having them in my house because they are awful. He states that he is a licensed contractor but there was no registration number found.
Response from Carpentry by Rudolph

"[Member Name Removed] is a total liar and took one month to say all of this because she is still owing $1000 balance for the job and does not want to pay the rest of the rest of the money after the job is 99 percent completed that's why she is coming up with this lame story and she never left her premises at no time while the men were working there and I pray that God will have mercy on her and I wish her all the best she have taught me something there are some people u must never work for in this business. She have taught me a lesson those men will never leave New Jesery to come to Brooklyn to steal lipstick"

Everything was great and I sat and helped him and learned how to do the repair. We should have maybe bought more paint for the garage door, but that's my fault. The door basically looks new again which is amazing. Not only did he fix my garage door, but he also gave me an old fridge because mine was breaking and offered me a job, which I would have seriously taken if I didn't end up getting something else out of state. He is a great guy and takes pride in his craftsmanship and wants to make sure you are happy with the results.

Rudolph responded to my quote request farily quickly and stopped by our apartment the next morning. He gave us a quote and explained how he thought of performing the work (we needed to enclose our bedroom in an open loft).
We agreed on a date and hour and he called me prior to the appointment to confirm. Since we were at first not in agreement about the material, Rudolph took my husband with him to the hardware store to purchase the material together. That was great, because we knew what we were going to get from the start and did not have to worry about it.
He worked with one other person for about 1 day and a half and the result is very good. It is not perfectly finished, but we decided to do the finishing on our own. What we needed help with, he certainly did it and left the job done to our satisfaction.

Good job.  He built a closet but I feel one door needs to be shaved; spoke to him about it and really did not get a clear answer. Wished I would have returned to discuss it again, afraid it might get worse in future.  He also did crown molding; after going over several parts that I was not satisfied with, he did correct it.  Overall good job.

Craftsman is courteous, motivated, spiritual and creative.  Made his "vision" for renovation sound doable and affordable.  Job not completed...kitchen left looking like a construction site.  Unable to accurately assess this craftsman's level of expertise because after rendering installments totaling over 50% of last cost quote, all work ceased.

I asked him to break a wall from my living room and finish the floor and ceiling.
When he breaks the wall it come out that there are more heating duct and electrical work involve in this project.
But he kept his price same and perform all additional work in the same price he agree upon at the begging.

I had an extremely large and heavy mirror that needed hanging. It was both cumbersome and fragile. The apartment also had less than standard stud settings in the wall. Rudolph was great about trouble shooting the wall, getting extra support for the unusual weight and did all of it without damaging any part of the wall and leaving the work are spotless. Would definitely use him again. A bit more expensive but definitely worth it.

After calling several "handymen" who did not respond or would not come to the house, Rudolph made an appointment with us based on my schedule.  He arrived with his expertise and the tools to do the job, which is sometimes not the case (in my experience).  Rudolph was courteous, accomodating, pleasant, fair priced, and very professional.  Before he did something, he would ask what we had in mind and then, when appropriate, he made suggestions which made sense and with which we agreed.  He was very neat, brought his own drop cloth, and he cleaned up before he left - we did not have to clean anything.  He knows what he's doing, we had full confidence in him and we are going to use him in the near future for several different carpentry projects (i.e. woodworking, building closets).

They did a good job. He came and fixed the walls and recommended a plumber to change the sewer lines in the house. We did notice that he has a lot of work, so we occasionally he had to stop the work rather than working straight through. I would recommend he to anyone. He has a strong network of people that can do items that he can't complete.

The first contractor wanted too much for the job.  When he informed me that his son would be working along side of him I knew why he was trying to get extra money out of me.  The second guy bragged more about what he could do to my kitchen than anything else. He wasn't willing to compromise on the price of the job and his labor costs appear to continue increasing every 5 min. of the conversation.  I knew once he left my house I wouldn't be calling him back.

I then took a chance with Rudolf and I'm glad that I did. When I contacted Rudolf I explained what I needed done in my kitchen.  He came over a few days later and he was willing to work with me from the onset. He gave me a price that was much better than the first two contractors and thoroughly explained to me how he would go about handling the job.  I had to get the repairs done right away because whenever I would cook in the kitchen the steam would cause the ceiling to start sweating and turn brown due to all of the dirt and grime from the water damage. This was becoming a health issue that needed to be done immediately and I got Rudolf do take care of the job because I was very impressed with how much he was willing to work with me.

The job took a day longer than expected because by looking at the outside you couldn't tell just how extensive the water damage to my ceiling was.  He and his men removed all of the rotted areas, remove the panels that had pulled away from the wall, painted and even did electrical work on two outlets for free. (You can't beat that at all!) Before I hated walking into my kitchen - it would disgust me but now I have something nice to look at.  The walls are beautiful and slick.  I'm getting ready to hire him again to replace all of my kitchen cabinets because they did such a good job in my kitchen that my cabinets now look really tacky!  He will also re-tile my floors, give me a backsplash and install my appliances and a granite countertop for me.  Ever since my last handyman fell ill I had been looking for a suitable replacement and I'm happy to know I finally found one that's very reasonable and doesn't live too far away from me.

It went perfectly and we have used him many times since.  His two favorite phrases are "Cool, cool." and "not a problem."  That sums Rudolph up in a nutshell.
