Bright Star Service

This is a terrible company that does not know how to do this type of work. Two year in and they have yet to reserve a building permit. My calls and emails are left unanswered. DO NOT hire this company regardless of the price. You have been warned!

This was a complete gut renovation of a townhouse, so the site was completely open at the time. Lloyd Tuckman assured me that the work would take only 4-6 weeks to complete, because there were no obstacles in their way. Two years later, they still have not completed the job. Their workers are rude, incompetent, and lack serious work ethic. Lloyd failed to show up on MANY appointments. It was almost impossible to get anyone on the phone, and their voicemail system takes you in circles instead of letting you leave a message. My contract with them specified that they would not be off site for more than 3 days without advance notice. In fact they would disappear for weeks, show up for a few hours, then disappear for several more weeks. They delayed the construction for months on end because other trades could not move forward until they were done. I tried to work with their scheduling, but it became impossible to plan anything because they were so unreliable. The worst of it was that the system they installed doesn't work. They were supposed to make the house airtight, and install the heating and cooling system. This winter there were days when my livingroom was 45 degrees. I am not kidding. These people are the worst.

the worst anyone can have; insufficient-not professional workers, late, slow, not too productive, some doors was revesed, master carpenter missed cutting out outlet by 1/2 to one inch on four outlets, molding not replaced or cover up, door not replaced even thought i paid for it, promise to finish job week after week-day after day, broken contract, was to completed in 2 weeks-after 6 week still not completed, and try to get the 2nd payment back by legal means but decide not to, installation only half of the walls that he replaced !!! etc,etc,etc... please note. during "Sandy" we have not electric/phone/internet service to check on Loyde Tuckman of "Bright Star",

An unexpected and costly disappointment, as the owner / partner, LLoyd Tuckman, seemed professional at first and we were under the impression everything would work fine.

During installation they were not so careful with walls and floors.  Had to repaint walls and fix some floor damage.  

After installation was complete, we were unable to live with the loud noise from some units.  Impossible to have a relaxing time in the living room or have a good night sleep at our master bedroom.

Additionally, leaks from other units caused further water damage inside the walls.  we had an undetected failing compressor and non working inside units.

BS worked hard to fix problems but unsuccessfully.  Our home was left with badly repaired walls that had to be redone again and quite an expensive A/C system that was unable to cool through 3 inside units.  

In the end BrightStar left it up to us to find a solution on our own that is costing us several thousands to re-install properly and fix walls.
 
We offered BS a number of times times an opportunity to settle by contributing to the additional expense on their own terms, trusting that BrightStar would keep their word and honor their warranty, and just forget this unfortunate situation for both parties.  

After trying to several times to get an answer from BS we never heard from them.    We have owned this AC system for almost 4 years.  This is the first summer we have a fully working and quiet A/C system, and NOT thanks to Bright Star.
