Old doors exterior and foyer interior -- trouble maintaining lock Called at 9AM -- Ayman was there by 10 and made the repairs - significantly he didn't try to sell a new lock or pad the invoice --Charges were more than reasonable and he did the job quickly - efficiently - and in a manner that was able to save the old lock set !

In my experience, vendors are always more than happy to work for you when they are getting paid, but how willing and cooperative will they be when things go wrong and they are responsible for correcting the issue? Usually, it results in being given the runaround and being asked to wait until they are good and ready to help if they help at all. I found myself in need of follow up support from Bridgeview locksmiths and I could not be more satisfied by the way they handled things. Here's what happened. Amen of Bridgeview installed an electric strike for me last month. That strike turned out to be defective and failed today, not his fault, the company that made the strike had a bad batch. I called Amen today and within an hour he was on site and the strike was replaced and that there was no charge for the labor or the replacement. Bridgeview is a model for other businesses to follow and I cannot recommend them enough.

After becoming frustrated with several locksmiths who did not return calls or keep appointments I went to Angie's List. I did not see any reviews for Bridgeview but they were so close to where the work needed to be done that I gave them a chance. I needed a strike installed and the first thing he noticed was that I had a pretty expensive strike and he tested it before offering to sell me a new strike he had brought along. I appreciated that. He was also observant and noticed that the buzzer which activates the strike was buzzing for too long which would prevent the door from locking. He also pointed out that the doorknob when turned from the inside would always unlock the door which created a security issue. He installed a new lock and resolved the problem. I would without hesitation recommend him. He always answered my calls and he showed up to on time to do the work.

First of all, this provider has a new location. They are on 83rd street, just off 5th avenue in Bay Ridge.
Amen came in person an inspected my front door lock, and pointed out that the mechanism was fine. It was just loose on the old door.  He worked to engineer a better way to secure the locking mechanism to the door and the latchplate to the door frame, and fixed my issue.  He also fixxed two of my antique interior doorknobs, and installed the new cyclinder deadbolt on one door.  Fast and efficient, and each mechanism seems strong like new. I was very grateful to have someone who could work with 1910 doorknob mechanisms.

The lock cylinder replacements were done adequately. The screws on the upper lock (vertical locking dead bolt) were stripped. As a result, the lock was not properly aligned and difficult to operate. Instead of replacing the stripped screws and realigning the lock, Amen the "locksmith" aligned the lock by hitting it with a hammer. This repair lasted a day or two. I called him and he returned to hammer the lock some more. This "fix" didn't last and he ignored my third phone call completely. I went to the hardware store for some larger screws to fasten and realign the lock myself (it works great now). If you need your lock repaired, but don't have a hammer, then call Amen.

Work took place over two days.  The locksmith was friendly and punctual both times. The lock on the cellar door is now a little hard to turn (eight months after installation), but we are happy with the other work.  We could probably get him to come back to fix the sticky lock, but haven't had time to schedule.

My entire experience with Bridgeview was extremely pleasureable. Amen came on three separate occasions. First we had scheduled a consultation to discuss our needs and receive an estimate. The pricing for the first scope of work was very reasonable and we scheduled a followup appointment for the work to be performed. Regarding the lock for the hatch Amen said that he would need to look into where the lock could be ordered as it was a specialty item. He called back promptly later that same day as the consultation with the appropriate information. He requested that we order the lock directly ourselves and when it arrived would return to install it. He also gave a recommendation of an alternate place to order the lock as he believed it would be cheaper, which it was. On all three occcasions, Amen was on time and in fact, an hour before our last scheduled appointment, he called to say that he was available to come earlier if that worked with our schedule. He was always prepared with all of his tools with him, never needing to return to his truck and all of his power tools were charged, not needing to run power cords through the house. During each of our appointments and phone calls he was always very courteous and professional. A pure pleasure and I would recommend him to my neighbors.

Amos was very friendly, and very professional. He had to make two return trips to make get all the right parts installed, but it was a relatively complicated job so it's completely understandable.

He was about 10 minutes late when he called and said he would be there in about 10 minutes. I just closed on this house the day before and I wasn't 100% sure what to do with the 3 exterior doors. He listened to what I said very patiently and advised us what was the best way to go with each door's issues, and he said he would make all three doors be able to use the same key. He took out the main front door lock and took it back to his shop to work on it and when he came back he did all the work unsupervised (I was showing a contractor around). When he was finished he showed me exactly what was done on all three doors and watched while I worked all the locks from inside and outside. Later in the day I called him and decided I wanted to add a second bolt to one door and he said he could come back the next afternoon (which is tomorrow, and I'm confident his work will be as excellent as today). I used this company in the past and was a bit wary because this was a new owner. He was so friendly, patient and helpful. I thought his price was amazingly low for the time and care he took to do the work. If you are in Bay Ridge I highly recommend calling Bridgeview.

When called to ask for an inspection of the safety of our locks, Bridgeview Locksmiths came immediately and made copies of our keys for a very good price.
